Will the Real Jesus please stand up

According to the bible, Jesus said: "Father, let this cup pass from me!" No one heard it but Jesus and God. The disciples were asleep. Soon after, Jesus was arrested and wisked away by the Romans. So who wrote it? Anyone dare to give an intelligent answer? Jesus existed but the church stole/altered his identity to the point that most mainstream christians wouldn't know him if they collided on the sidewalk. I am a Gnostic Christian.
