I really appreciate you telling your story and putting this out to the public. After lots of research I've come upon the obvious conclusion that I do not want to circumcize my sons! My fiancee, who was circumsized in infancy, refuses to listen to any of my fact-based argument points. Circumcision is not bad. Few moths after your surgery, you should have normal intercourse. My partner is circumcised, and he enjoys intercourse and so do I.
@LiaPema Circumcision removes the five most sexually sensate areas of the penis, the rolling erotic dynamic of moveable skin as nature intended and protection for the glans. If you and your partner are fine with that and have no problem great, have fun. But to force that deficit upon an infant or child, or to coerce a young man into it without full disclosure of the facts and risks is unethical.

@tarkinfish It depends on how drastically you were cut. If you still have your frenulum and still have some mobility in the shaft skin you are better off than if these were greatly affected.
When people are strongly motivated, often by social pressures, to have themselves cut they will often report the results as beneficial. Phimosis at age 16 is not uncommon. Regular manual stretching during masturbation can usually rectify that.

(2) he may have been circumcised for socalled medical reasons which negatively impacted his sex...
@tarkinfish I was also circumcised at 16. It took a long time to heal (a full year to tell you the truth) but sex and orgasm is still very enjoyable, actually better I think, because my foreskin was unable to retract.

I was usually the only uncircumcised guy in school ... always felt embarrassed in gym class, other guys made fun of me in the locker room. @RoseFink Physically it's worse for an adult because: 1) the surgery leaves a very visible scar on an adult, unlike an infant's skin; 2) there's a new tight feeling; 3) the glans (head) is now exposed & always rubbing against clothing, causing dryness and itching; 4) sex is less enjoyable because the glans (head) becomes desensitized due to constant exposure, and the foreskin had pleasurable nerve endings but it has now been chopped off. But I agree with you about an adult being able to choose.

Even today some American doctors still do this and give parents this erroneous advice. If you leave it alone, problems won't develop. My intact son is 3 yrs old and he has NEVER had a problem, no UTI, nothing. I don't see how it's possibly for him to get an infection because foreskin is still fused..

And before anyone asks, yes I did try steroid cream which had no effect and I tried the exercises too. I do not agree with circumcision in children as you are taking their choice away from them! unless for medical reasons of course. @tarkinfish It depends on how drastically you were cut. If you still have your frenulum and still have some mobility in the shaft skin you are better off than if these were greatly affected.
When people are strongly motivated, often by social pressures, to have themselves cut they will often report the results as beneficial. Phimosis at age 16 is not uncommon. Regular manual stretching during masturbation can usually rectify that.

The vast majority of circumcised males are Muslims and so they usually defend it on religious grounds. Of those circumcised men who are not Muslim, many are either unhappy about being cut or simply would prefer to be uncut, but never talk about it.

I was usually the only uncircumcised guy in school ... always felt embarrassed in gym class, other guys made fun of me in the locker room. But later I discovered that the overwhelming majority of men in the world are uncut just like me. The men in the US are actually in the minority. I'm actually in fashion these days! Sorry the guy in the vid had to go through that procedure later in life, it's bad enough to mutilate a baby boy but as an adult male it's many times worse for so many reasons.

@RoseFink Physically it's worse for an adult because: 1) the surgery leaves a very visible scar on an adult, unlike an infant's skin; 2) there's a new tight feeling; 3) the glans (head) is now exposed & always rubbing against clothing, causing dryness and itching; 4) sex is less enjoyable because the glans (head) becomes desensitized due to constant exposure, and the foreskin had pleasurable nerve endings but it has now been chopped off. But I agree with you about an adult being able to choose.

Depending on the method used, and the skill or lack of it by the so called "doctor" the child can be left with a variety of scars, skin bridges, tags, too much skin taken to accommodate a normal erection, etc. Many infants die every year from this surgery imposed on them without their consent , adults who choose it for themselves usually live.

Even today some American doctors still do this and give parents this erroneous advice. If you leave it alone, problems won't develop. My intact son is 3 yrs old and he has NEVER had a problem, no UTI, nothing. I don't see how it's possibly for him to get an infection because foreskin is still fused..

As for UTI's, the treatment for that is the same as it has always been, cranberry juice and lots of water!

Foreskin has a antibacterial and antiviral protein called Lysozome (also found in tears and breastmilk) that protects men and boys from infections. I was cut at 18. I had not had sex yet. My uncut penis looked very unattractive, unlike some that arent that bad. The skin was uneven and very loose looking and just looked like a saggy old pair of balls. Too ugly to explain. I had major insecurity and anxiety. I got it cut and it has been the best decision of my life. I had sex for the first time at 19 and it was great. There are more important things in life than having great sex. Its a shame people worry about orgasm more than spirituality.

@theciskokidd Lucky you got to choose for yourself. Sounds like you hadn't even grown into your penis yet. The comments you make about your own penis being "ugly", and being insecure and anxious about it suggest that time and experience would have offered the same "cure" without cutting off the foreskin. Good thing your balls didn't look like saggy old balls or...
When you are having great sex there is nothing in the world more important than that! Great sex IS spiritual and transcendent.

@theciskokidd I applaud you for making the decision yourself. However, since you had not had sex until after the circumcision, you have no basis of comparison between the sensation before and the sensations after. Plus, the dulling of sensitivity usually takes a couple of years to become apparent. As far as not liking your penis, I'm sure there are many things about myself I might "like" to change, but I learned to love myself instead. And anyone who doesn't love all of u doesn't derserve u.
