@TheGcbailey The Clark is fine if you sleep on your back. The Hennessy is cut so that you can lay across it more and feels better when it is really hot out. If you like to sleep on your side, the Hennessy is the better choice.
@TheGcbailey I would agree that the Clark, while expensive, gives you extras that the Hennessy doesn't. As long as you don't mind sleeping on your back and don't mind the price, go with the Clark.
do all the clark hammock styles have those tent poles for the arch at ur head and feet or just this model? bc in some other vids about clark hammocks ive noticed some dont have them or is tht just personal preference to use them? also can this nx 150 be used without the tent poles? sorry for all the ?'s you're a great help !!!!
@tylerdmax8 Only the NX150 and NX250 have the poles. The other ones support the tent part of the hammock by securing it to the trees. I don't think the 150 works well without the poles since that is what is supporting the ends of the hammock.
Good vid. I am 6 ft but only bout 180, if i used traditional sleeping bag along with pad inside, in your opinion would the 150 be worth it or to constictive?
@TrailTweaker I am 5'11" and around 220 and the 150 fits me fine. I think the 250 is worth considering when you start to get over 6" or like a LOT of room. For me the tradeoff in weight was not worth it.
Hi!, sorry to bother you, first of all, excellent video!, do you know if there's a bigger size of this hammock? i'm 6' tall, so i think i'll be needing a bigger one, thanks and happy holydays!
I understand that it is possible, but I have never done it myself as I typically set up with lots of trees in the area or I use my spoke setup that I show in one of my other videos.
Hi there, great review. Did you ever try to set it up on the ground in a more tentlinke, bivy way? I guess there is no option to insert a thermarest in the "floor" section? An is the ground-layer waterproof?
@freezemyheaddotcom Actually, that was the color that it came when I ordered it a couple of years ago. As far as two people in either this or the NX-250, unless you REALLY like the person, I would not recommend it. They do make a two person hammock called the Vertex that is designed for two people.
I was in exactly the same place and I decided on the NX-150 with the NX-250 tarp so that I had more room to work under the tarp if it is raining out. I prefer the hoop system over the suspension system for the ends on the North American. The weight of the poles has proven not to be an issue I actually carry them in a small PVC tube so I keep them together.
I bought the NX150 over the North American because of the hoop system. I did upsize the tarp, but I am 5'11" 220 pounds and the 150 is plenty big. The 250 is for taller/bigger people and those that are bigger or just want more room.
So if someone like myself that's 5'10" would use the NX-150 or the NX-250. that's gonna pretty much be a house to me when I get in one. I've been looking around and I wanna get a Clark. Just having trouble deciding on which model. The North American or the other two.
hahah ham ock

As far as comfort while sleeping goes, is the clark or the hennessy more comfortable?

@Wildernessways as far as the versatility goes though, it seems that the clark would be the way to go

Nice video. Not sure what a Ham Mock is, try pronouncing it as ham·mek - noun \ˈha-mək\

@tsimsaz The Ham Mock is a little know Midwestern variant of the hammek ;)

how did you get the nx-150 in that color? i hate the stock color green but can't justify the expensive camo.. really want the same color you have.
also- have you ever tried sleeping two people (wife, girlfriend, partner)? looks like pretty tight fit.i wonder if the nx-250 would improve things..?

you could pack dry leaves in the pockets for insulation on a realy cold night

So in a Henessy, the rainfly is part of the same line that holds the hammock up? It is not seperate in a henessy?
Balgore8 4 months ago
@Balgore8 No, the tarp is removable on the Hennessy, so if you wanted to you could substitute a larger tarp.
Wildernessways 4 months ago
You did a really good job but I couldn't listen to you say hammOck one more time. You probably say cOmpass too don't you?
rowdybeaver33 4 months ago
@rowdybeaver33 That is what you get for listening to a Midwesterner talk about hammocks. By the way I do say cOmpass ;)

What is the approx. total weight of this setup, including straps, cords, ropes, tarp, etc?

@JD03ish Total weight minus the tube I use to hold the poles together is around 3 pounds 6 ounces

I only use a sleeping pad if it is going to be less than 40 degrees outside, otherwise, there is really no need for a sleeping pad.
Wildernessways 7 months ago
Do you need a pad to sleep in the hammock all the time or do you just need it in cold weather?
greenninja28607 7 months ago
I have the NX250, not because i need it but i enjoy the extra room...great job.
