A really great song, but Mrs. Womack doesn't look like she is personally enjoying the song, is she another Tina Turner, bossed around by a least talented husband!
@mrsjax You're showing your complete musical ignorance! Ike Turner practically invented rock and roll. While he may have been a brutish husband, he was always more talented than Tina. Her best stuff was done with him
You Know this is Bobbi Womacks brother who was married to Mary Wells first., they had 3 children. After he divorced Mary Wells, he married Sam Cooke's daughter. This is Linda Cooke, Bobbi Womack's brothers second wife. Now, Bobbi was married to Sam Cooke's ex wife, and their baby brother Curtis Womack married Mary Wells and had a daughter. So their children are siblings and first cousins. What the hell is this family about?
I sang this while the dj was getting warmed up at my mom's social club Christmas party......and BOY, did I get some good tips from the crowd. One of my favs, and you are right 9nahalfod it makes a crowd go crazyyy! Don't let the dj cut the music and let everybody start singing......
Come on with it....this is some feel good music. No matter what kind of mood i am in...i come to this era of music and before i know it i am smiling from ear to ear. The earthquake today had me feeling so kind of way and i was having trouble snapping out of it. This song and several others helped me come back to myself. This was my first earthquake and i will be honest.....it scared me like nothing else ever did. @voxxxen thank you for posting this it gives people alot of joy.

Great music can stand the test of time..... i am a 23 yr old DJ from Nashville Tn with an old soul n figured i would throw the crowd off by mixing this end .... yall would not believe how this song packed the dance floor with 21-26 yr olds it forced me to play bout 5 more good oldies then it was back to the usual Waka Flocka n Gucci Mane
I became familiar with this song through the great Lela James remake about a couple of years ago. I went to a 30 and over day party and they played and we rocked so hard. My goodness...... That's all I can say.
Love Wars album, which I once own in vinyl, was not made CD for a long time. I love this track and Catch and Don't Look Back. Linda is very good singer.
not only in chicago or newark. man, we were grooving to this tune in freetown, sierra leone, in the eighties. listening to it now brings back so many sweet memories. supa baaad tune.
