Picot Edging Tutorial

i have spent the whole evening trying to crochet the edging to the bottom of my cupcake hat. I love to knit but can not crochet! was getting really frustrated and had decided to ask someone else to finish the hat for me but thanks to this video i now know how to knit the edging!!

i'm making a modification of the cupcake hat for an adult, but this isn't how i was doing the picot edge at all...

are you able to do this edging on all sides or is it just on the top and bottom?
