1993 one was THE BEST! I liked it when it was strictly British! No offence to Americans! And at the end of the 93 movie Lord Craven promised the garden won't go to waste again! This movie isn't as charming because by the end the garden is no longer a secret...

This is the sequel to the 1987 version of the secret garden. In this version, Colin and Mary are not related. The garden in the 1987 version looks like this one.

@animefangirl455 Except, apparently, Dickon died ... I watched the film, it's quite good. But I have to admit, I love the first one better. For me, the fact that Colin marries Mary does kinda make sense, though it' i rather insestuous lol :S Mind you, I guess it's no different to what people did in the old days, to keep their family line going and I suppose that Mary and Colin make a good partnership, coz they have so much in common. Nevertheless, I agree that Dickon's more her romantic soulmate

And I've always had the feeling that there was some sort of, I don't know, connection between Dickon and Mary, too bad that it wasn't kept in this movie...

But anyway, marriage between cousins was very normal at those ages, so it's not that hard to understand.

It's like ... when two people meet each other, who are like twins, they share the same thoughts, same feelings, and it's often that those two souls are drawn to each other, because it's like they are the same person ... they are attracted to the part of themself that is in that person. But at the same time, there is that other soul who is different from you, but they complete you in a sort of yin meets yang way. So, in a sense, some people have two soul mates.

@Lamica00 I think Mary and Dickon are the yin/yang soulmates, they are more healthier for each other, because they are different, and it's a more romantic partnership with them. With Mary and Colin, it's more of a best friend relationship. Ever seen Twilight? Well, Bella at one point said that she wished she could claim Jacob as a brother, because she loved him and wanted to keep him, and yet she still wanted to be with Edward. I think if Dickon was still alive, she would be with him.

that looks like it sucks, the garden has way too many pavements and stuff. it doesnt look like its been closed for ten years. they can learn alot from the 1993 version, that one had an enchanted beautiful garden. and at the end of the trailer there are all kind of stranger kids running around in it?!! what the heck! that just doesnt seem respectful.

I heard many years ago that this film is NOT the sequel to the 1993 film. How could it be anyway? That film is from WB, this is from Artisan. I still wanna see film anyway. In fact I can always pretend it's the 1993 sequel. No big deal, right? Ms. Sowerby is Dickon's mother, at least, according to the book I read back in grade school. That's sick that Mary and Colin married. I wonder if Kate Maberly (Mary from the 1993 film) ever saw this movie.

It was my favorite movie...I've saw this one when I was like 7 yrs. old...and now i'm 11 yrs. old ....now i want to watch it...and i say the girl is familiar and it is because it's Camilla Belle...I wish someone will upload it...I can only watch this one during Holy week here in Philippines because there's a channel that play it....

yeah it makes me cry you don't see him die but the way Mary looks at him at the end and dickon tells Colin " We will be parted you and me but remembrance will keep us friends." and the when they are all grown up Ben wither staff asks Mary did she know he died yes it is very heartbreaking though
