For some dumb reason most executives play the stupid game of golf. They can't seem to stop themselves. They play $3,000 rounds & smoke $300 cigars to feed their laziness & greed.
Every single one of these failed/bailedout companies had outsourced to INDIAN companies a few years earlier. Indian conman Azim Premji and his company Wipro are grifters. AIG, Lehman, Merill, GM, Sun, PeopleSoft, ALL of them used Indian outsourcing companies. India's workers are ranked 124th in world productivity while Americans are ranked FIRST!
The part that disgusts me is that we didn't bail them out with money we had on hand, that would be bad enough. NOPE. Instead we borrowed money from the future to do it. Don't worry though, the government is going to loan us the money so they can steal it from us to give to the crooks at AIG.
Did I mention that AIG and the rest of Wall Street gave between $130,00 to $280,000 to each politician in "campaign contributions"?
what are those idiots barking around here?? If AIG down, USA will going down too... idiot!! we are profesional and contribute a lot., what we get?? just a little bonus and LEGAL!!!!!!!
oh I don't know, pumping the credit market full of crap and then draining it isn't a "contribution" IMHO rather it is a harm and anyone DUMB enough to insure this crud DESERVES to eat rocks. The "bailout" money could go directly to investments in America to create jobs and to make AIG pension/401ks/etc victims whole again.
but NoooOOOO we gotta feed fat cats. There was once a world w/o AIG ...remember?

Some call these "bailouts". However, bearing in mind that the new economic model we seem to be adopting is one where we privatize profit and socialize loss. I'm begining to call them: "Heads I win. Tails you lose, America".
This country is sick with GREED! At this point the only question is whether it's terminal.
The whole bailout should be scrapped. This should be a lesson in what kind of people are in our financial institutions - they are greedy scum and they are also bunglers. Them AND AIG corporation should not get a penny of taxpayer money. Buy the mortgages directly if they must.
Second, we shouldn't all be looking at who in the government or who in wall street is responsible for this because THEY ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE. fuck all these snake-in-the-grass oldboy's club motherfuckers who all know each other because washington is a revolving door to wall st: you make a mint as a CEO then you come and be a lobbyist or an "advisor," and still make a mint for not doing anything more special then just knowing the right people. this is classwar and its time we got armed to harm.
So alot of people are getting on here and talking about the second coming of the Great Red Scare and how this administration is taking us in such a drastic policy shift that we're going to be calling each other "comrade," in a short time..and to them I say "And..?" This system of untempered greed and excess couldn't support itself indefinitely anyway so now we gotta move forward. i'm not calling for a commie-overhaul but we need more socially responsible business practices, its simple fact.
its amazing how stupid and hypocritical the government is, first they hand out
200B and then they start bitching over 150M, which is less than one tenth of 1%...and now they are threatening to windup the company, WTF?!?! the taxpayer should be hounding down the moronic government and not AIG !
You people are freaking stupid don't you know that the bonuses were said long before the bailout??? and for in response of this crap LORD OBAMA is going to enforce a 90% TAX on AIG to get that money back so not to waste "tax payers" money because who are the tax payers?!? US will we see our share back form this?? NO
Sure there were Republicans agreeing to this garbage, too. MAny/most opposed. Even some Dems. opposed it. But questionaires show many people don't know who controls Congress these last few years. And Pelosi, Frank, Reed and co. were crafting the laws/legislation that made this mess possible. And the money going to AIG bonuses is only a slice of what's going to foreign countries. YOUR money. They knew, said nothing. Now acting shocked and angry to appease you, the voter.
Whether we agree or disagree, nice to see civility.
My response is that there's a HUGE difference. In the past, only SHAREHOLDERS would have every right to scream about oversized bonuses. BUT, the voters voted in Obama(and Pelosi, Frank, Dirty Harry Reed, etc.) and thus voted for GOVERNMENT control of corporations. So the bonuses are now paid using YOUR tax dollar. You're getting what you voted for. Buyer's remorse, anyone?
Tilbily: you should see how much money all polititions get from all sorts of groups, including the RIAA, it doesnt mean that they actualy are going to DO anything for that company/group. If they did, that would be considered a bribe.
yah... *cough* obama lied, he approved this and look what they did... there is OBVIOUSLY *cough* a huge conspiracy where obama met with AIG in behind closed doors to work out how much money he would be giving them...
COME ON PEOPLE just because yes, it happened under obama, and yes it was approved by obama, doesnt mean that obama approved of everything that everyone did with it after. I dont think anyone thought of executive bonuses when they aproved this bill (yes, others besides obama aproved
But as for the bonuses being in place before the bailout? AIG should have cancelled ALL bonuses immediately when they decided to take TAX PAYER money! As a matter of fact, since as a tax payer I am a partial owner, I say I want my money back!!!! AIG is a poor investment for me and I do not want to give them one crumbly red cent!
Obama and co. knew about these bonuses a year ago. Why haven't they lifted a finger to stop them? Guess what...OBAMA recieved $130 000. 00 in campaign contributions in '08 from AIG execs!

the new stimulus plan promotes construcuction of roads (mande of petroleum products)....gas prices will be double soon--and inflated by wall street...not shocking that this is the plan that our gov came up with
Can somebody tell me what idiots voted for this bail out bill to help aig? Wasn't it originally a "no" vote in the house, and revoted as a "yes?" Was it mostly Democrats or Republicans who voted yes? What was the idea of benefiting "us" the taxpayers and America by allowing these greedy giant lenders to spend and later award bonuses from our hard-earned cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the fourth time in six months, the federal government is giving billions of taxpayer dollars to AIG, following the latters announcement of a $61.7 billion fourth quarter loss — this despite the massive bailout shoveled AIGs way by the Bush administration last September.
Every American citizen has invested $2,000.00 or more (in the case of those who invested voluntarily as well as involuntarily) in AIG. That is simply staggering. Out of work? Laid off? Take heart - you still have $2,000.00 in AIG preferred stock!
fuck AIG and all these other idiots. hope you all rot in hell - wall street included and all you annoying u penn/harvard bankers and analysts. gone are the days of fat bonuses. you all lived in greed for too long!
Like when an old guy is about to die, and he keeps getting resucitated, when he should just die quick and painlessly, they keep him alive. AIG is an old, bastard man who needs to die.
Yes, most people with AIG are idiots and greedy and stupid and dumb... but, with all the years wihout government control, companies were allowed to get so powerful where if that company failed... the rest failed too, so thats what AIG is, thats why we THE TAX PAYERS are bailing them out so we dont go into a depression, but the 165 mil dollars in bonuses last sunday... c'mon, seriously AIG, were bailing you out and while were taking the brunt of the fire, your handing out $1 mil bonuses.
wait a min they now want bonusus for what spending billions after billions of money that went to total waist i say put these scumbags where they belong in front of a fireing squad
Here is another threat that if they failed the whole system would colapse. Bull shit, let them fall for their mistakes. Another company could take their place. Here we are forking onver cash, which once was a capitalist system, changed socialist. it is a nasty mix. Taxpayers dishing out tons, to ensure their safety???? Let them fall and take a handful of these thugs to a dank dark prison.
Yes, most people with AIG are idiots and greedy and stupid and dumb... but, with all the years wihout government control, companies were allowed to get so powerful where if that company failed... the rest failed too, so thats what AIG is, thats why we THE TAX PAYERS are bailing them out so we dont go into a depression, but the 165 mil dollars in bonuses last sunday... c'mon, seriously AIG, were bailing you out and while were taking the brunt of the fired, your handing out $1 mil bonuses.
I'm floored by this. This country is so full of crap and corrupt individuals that i'm seriously considering leaving. this is the ultimate slap in my face. And yours. How do you let people screw you like this due to greed? Most countries would give them lashes or put them in prison. All the American people do is gripe and excuse it, bend over and wait for another one. Sad. You should go get these people and drag them out of their offices and beat them. then get your money back
New CEO, Liddy, was singled out for praise by President Obama today during the small business seminar. Who is in charge when these bonuses get paid out? Ed Liddy, who was just singled out for praise by President Obama. You connect the dots.
TARP. Section 1, Short Title, emergency stabilization act, Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. Section 2. Purposes. Provides authority to the Treasury secretary to restore liquidity and stability to the US financial system and to ensure the economic well-being of Americans. Congress attached no strings to the $700 billion TARP money, zilch, zero, nada. They gave the Treasury secretary, in this case Geithner czar-like authority to do whatever he wanted with that money.
Who do you think wrote the TARP bill? Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Nancy Pelosi. They wrote it. Did they put any accountability in it? No. Did they put any strings in it? No. They gave total authority to the Treasury secretary.
The senate and house voted for the destruction of our country last year. Looks like you southerners should think about dusting off the old Reb flag, cuz the CSA will emerge again.
dejawolf, no the CEO and the top executives need to continue their lavish lifestyles while we (by we I mean the middle class, our children and maybe our grandchildren) pick up the tap for these scumbags.
Behind bars is too kind - hanging from a tree is more like it.
The dirty little secret is that all these people getting all these bonuses are friends of Barack.
Most of the people on Wall Street who have their homes in the Hamptons and in San Francisco and Hollywood and Chicago and New York, most of these people are wealthy, filthy-rich Democrats. A lot of this money is going straight to people who end up kicking it back to Obama in the form of campaign contributions and what have you.
congratu-fucking-lations . They just spent another billion from tax payers on the managements' year end bonus, each one of them could get up to 3 million usd even when the compay is crashing !
i have to pay this fucking asshole 2000$. i dont even have a job thanks to scumbags like this!!! Let the ceo bail out his own company... He screwed up and he already has our money to bail himself out. ES&DMF!!!!!
ha i just heard AIG execs are getting another 165 million in bonuses.
but instead of trying to accept some sort of civic responsibility, the execs have decided to give themselves the bonuses under the loophole that the government cannot stop them until next year.
way to go. you assholes better buy some bulletproof vests for you and your families because when the depression sets in, YOUR homes are gonna be the first ones looted.
MONEY TO THE PEOPLE...... screw giving the bail out money to ANY Wall Street Co - Give the people the money, as they spend it it will fix economy, stop forclosures, get america out of debt, etc.
PLEASE join my protest to the Bail out and answer 1 question on camera: "How would you spend $297,000 dollars?" - That is the amount of BAIL OUT money given to the people....C'MON AMERICA, JOIN US IN TELLING THE GOV HOW WE COULD FIX THIS ECONOMY!....... The Fight Isnt Over YET!!
You can see it in their faces, in their expressions.. THOSE BILLIONAIRE FAT CEO BASTARDS ARE TAKING THE WORKING PEOPLE TO THE CLEANERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...and NOBODY HAS THE BALLS TO STOP THOSE CRIMINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
U.S. lack of manufacturing, military defeats, and an expensive streched out military empire, too much debt by u.s. government and citizens, plus a wasteful consumerism lifestyle is not sustanable.
phony manufactured bubles can creat phony wealth only for so long.
U.S. you have to give up your empire and start making real things again that the world needs or wants.
AIG is a bottomless pit thats so big; it forces our nation to bail them out when they have blown through all monies already given to them. Despite all the trouble in the world, these assholes are still getting 6 figure bonuses..for what? Bankrupting that company and holding the tax payer hostage??? I say start throwing some of these company leaders in jail, liquidate their assets and start pumping that money back into the economy.
Lets auction off the white house, or any other public property...it's like monopoly...its time to mortage your property because you've landed on mayfair with 2 hotels on it and your bankrupt.
If it goes, goodbye usa ...back to the 14th Century.....I personally think its justa matter of time, there isn't enough money in the world to fix this problem
the big boys took big bet, and made a lot of money for a decade or two.
now that their scheme has come to a head, and loosing money, again they want money from tax payers.
i think its because washington knows, the big fat cats can't make it as homeless people on the streets, drinking 3 dollar wines, so we should give them the money that they lost.
us little folks don't mind, we give our money willingly, and hope they don't get left out in the cold.
People must understand that AIG going under will be almost impossible, as it is used for covert operations by the CIA (primarily target assessments). To say that the government would let AIG go bust is like saying it would allow the CIA to go bust. Furthermore, as many banks are relying on drug funds to keep going, it would be better to watch the Opium production figures than anything else.
Damn it, I want my 5,000 shares of preferred stock in AIG that my taxes paid for in bailout money NOW. In 18 months or so when this economy comes back around I'll be LOADED. This is getting beyond ridiculous.
The worst part of this deal, (which is almost NEVER mentioned by ANY press), is that AIG is a foreign company. Our tax dollars are going to support a company that's made poor business decisions AND is not even an American company.
AIG will never pay it back. If the monetary system is failing, then let it die, so something else can be put in its place. This debt based system will never last long, it is the serpent that eats itself. It is a pattern degradation system, a spiral downward is the only thing it can ever do.
If they are this critical why were they deregulated? They should be regulated to within an inch of their existance!

Let them fall and take a handful of these thugs to a dank dark prison.

Tilbily 2 years ago
Who do you think wrote the TARP bill? Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Nancy Pelosi. They wrote it. Did they put any accountability in it? No. Did they put any strings in it? No. They gave total authority to the Treasury secretary.

Monster posted 1000 Navy jobs for; Dr's, Dentist's, Nurses and Officers on 3/13. Army posted 1000 jobs on Careerbuider today.
Guess more America children and parents are going to die for Corp America big bonus exec's. Any AIG kids in the war?
Like our Gov didn't know until the last minute the bonuses would be paid.
If the exec's were fired a year ago for the bad job - NO bonuses !
Like Dem's made a call at the last minute to try and stop it. Ya right.

Just another wind-bag high exec mobster in a suit.
The whole system of society (internationally intertwined) is a total scam.
Federal Reserve created due to "bank panics" in 1900's. Banking families "came to the resue" to instigate Federal Reserve.
They caused the scares in order to gain control of making money for the US!
All of big business is one big scam.
Modern economic crisis caused by the Money Owners behind the veil who nobody ever sees.

ha i just heard AIG execs are getting another 165 million in bonuses.
but instead of trying to accept some sort of civic responsibility, the execs have decided to give themselves the bonuses under the loophole that the government cannot stop them until next year.
way to go. you assholes better buy some bulletproof vests for you and your families because when the depression sets in, YOUR homes are gonna be the first ones looted.

U.S. lack of manufacturing, military defeats, and an expensive streched out military empire, too much debt by u.s. government and citizens, plus a wasteful consumerism lifestyle is not sustanable.
phony manufactured bubles can creat phony wealth only for so long.
U.S. you have to give up your empire and start making real things again that the world needs or wants.

AIG is a bottomless pit thats so big; it forces our nation to bail them out when they have blown through all monies already given to them. Despite all the trouble in the world, these assholes are still getting 6 figure bonuses..for what? Bankrupting that company and holding the tax payer hostage??? I say start throwing some of these company leaders in jail, liquidate their assets and start pumping that money back into the economy.

the big boys took big bet, and made a lot of money for a decade or two.
now that their scheme has come to a head, and loosing money, again they want money from tax payers.
i think its because washington knows, the big fat cats can't make it as homeless people on the streets, drinking 3 dollar wines, so we should give them the money that they lost.
us little folks don't mind, we give our money willingly, and hope they don't get left out in the cold.
kirtokosseamrica 2 years ago
People must understand that AIG going under will be almost impossible, as it is used for covert operations by the CIA (primarily target assessments). To say that the government would let AIG go bust is like saying it would allow the CIA to go bust. Furthermore, as many banks are relying on drug funds to keep going, it would be better to watch the Opium production figures than anything else.

Damn it, I want my 5,000 shares of preferred stock in AIG that my taxes paid for in bailout money NOW. In 18 months or so when this economy comes back around I'll be LOADED. This is getting beyond ridiculous.

How sad for many people at the risk of losing their jobs there.

It is a pattern degradation system, a spiral downward is the only thing it can ever do.

fivestarmichael 2 years ago
They are having to pay out all the insurance all the banks bought from them.
They fail, then AIG has to dish out billions, and they start to fail due to so much money leaving, and none coming in!
