Wonderful clip - really can't understand why the critics are so willing to write off Robbine Williams' singing career - just because he is better known as everyone's favourite film funnyman. Like everyone else I thought he was great in Dead Poet's Society but the time has come for all to admit that he is today's'Renaissance Man' - a performer as comfortable on the silver screen as he is with his band mates in Take That. Just compare his appearance with Nicole Kidman in 'Kids' and 'Flubber'.
I cannot believe that this selfish man refuses to mention Gary Barlow - for me, the most talented member of that group. Having said that, Parkinson's right, his solo career and move into films shows just what a polymath he (Robbin Williams) is. One of the first Brits to really 'crack' America - and still has time to come back to the UK and perform on the X-Factor, as well as shows like these. He certainly does "entertain me".
I have that same problem he does, I get into an accent or voice and I have the hardest time just going straight back to my normal voice. Robin is great, as is Ellen.
I enjoy his improvisations and imitations on the screen and i also think hes a creative genius but he seems to be totally annoying to interview because he can't shut the hell up. Must be a defense mechanism or something cause i think it would be very hard for robin to show his off-screen sense of vunerability to an audience as he has to keep up his game face even when he's not playing a character. You might argue that's the real robin off-screen too but normal relationships would be hard as well

His whole reputation in showbiz has been based on this character or clown image that he's projected on and off-screen making it an almost impossible task of getting to know the real him, the side thats not funny - thats who i want to see, not a cartoon caricuture. The sensitive short-tempered artist isnt very appealing in hollywood if u make your bread n butter playing clowns

@march1380 Yes in 2002 he took his comedy act to Broadway for a one man show so the answer is yes. He is a geinius. One of the funniest comics in the world and one of the best actors of our generation. Favorite film of his: Good Will Hunting.
I read he may have Aspergers Syndrome because of the way we see him on talk shows and on stand-up. I also have AS and I am guessing it would not be a too big surprise. Plus Whoopi Goldberg once said he is shy off camera.
