@TheTelesha That is correct. Apples juice contains its own natural yeast. However, store bought applejuice is pasturized and the yeast is ussually killed off during the pasturization.
@ArtisanTony I would say no. Mostly because there are seeds in the left over apple pulp. I have heard that if you bake apple seeds they become poison. We normaly just feed the pulp to the cows.
Thanks! The music is from a band called Hollerado. Also, If you get a chance to video tape your press in action please send me a video reply. I would appreciate it.

Do you carbonate your cider? If so, what method do you use?

Cool video and process. Is this a non-commercial, group effort?

It certainly is. Just a bunch of cider lovers!

Would be great if you could explain how you made that shredder. I use a waste disposal unit but have to cut the apples first. Your tips?

Nice video! Did you guys warm up the apple juice first or use any kind of yeast?

I'm impressed! I was thinking about doing something like this for my cider, only on a smaller scale..... but now mabe bigger is the way to go!

can you make pie with the left over apples? Seems like a waste just to throw them away. So you don't have to add yeast or anything?

Great video, love the music... who is it?
Made my own 3 tonne cider press to use this year & after trawling through all the cider pressing vids on u tube decided this was my favourite.
Hope mine is as efficient as yours as it is virtually the same layout as yours, but without the tractor!

damn, this looks sick. But whats that thing on top of the tank. And how do you get it to ferment?
linercable 2 years ago
You need to attach an airlock. It lets the gases escape without letting air in. Then you're all set, it will ferment on it's own.
Christianyurt 2 years ago
Do you add yeast or sugar or anything to your cider
allmarktree 2 years ago
We added nothing. We just ferment the apples by themselves.
Our first batch just matured and it took exactly 2 and a half weeks. We tested it - it now has 0% sugar and approx. 7% alcohol content.

What's the taste like with just apples? Is it more bitter, sour, tangy?
DenverSantaBarbara 2 years ago
The cider is definitely more sour this way.
