can you highlight this type of paint or is the effect good enough. what do you mix with it to create shades and highlights as i am thinking of getting some to paint commander dante of the blood angels. could you do a more in depth tutorial on this topic please.
Gr8 video :D Question for you, you say to use Isopropanol but does it matter how strong it is as you can buy 70% or 90% and was just wondering if it made a difference or will any strength do? cheers
Thanks for this guide. I've bought couple of bottles and Vallejo Thinner in a shop, but paint was to thick to use it and it wasn't diluted with thinner. So, all pots of Liquid Gold Paints were standing on a shelf without use for a long time.
@Buypainted I understand that m8 my question was does it make a difference in quality if you use the Isopropanol instead of the thinner or is either one of the two fine to use, not both the thinner and isopropano together ofc
@Fury1987able Most important rule - add alcohol to alcohol based paints (like liquid gold series) and Vallejo thinner to acrylic paints. Otherwise you will destroy your paint.
One question, after the paint is applied can you pin wash or wash like you would do it with a standard acrylic paint?, oh btw , would u use them on an airbrush ?
This is the exact same way I use it. It's worth mentioning that you shouldn't get any water in the paint or paint pot as it can actually rust the paint.
I bought it of ebay (cooper, after I saw BP tutorials) and it worth every penny. Unfortunatelly I couldn't find old gold or when I did it was out of the stock. I did some googling but to no vain. Does anyone know where I can order this very old gold? Thanks
I've always made the mistake of using it out of the bottle. No wonder painting becomes harder over time! By the way, all of mine have large clumps of pigment that doesn't seem to separate at all! Anyone has an idea how to dissolve them? They always stick to my stirrer and nothing happens when i stir it.
Thx for tutorial Morti, what kind of izopropanol do you use? (jakiego izopropanolu używasz? bo widzę ze bardziej się opłąca jego zakup niż tego tinera winylowego vallejo :D Pozdro )
@Molasar87 izopropanol to czysty spirytus propylowy. Producent nie ma znaczenia - tak jak przy zakupie normalnego spirytusu. Do farb akrylowych się nie nadaje

With old bottles of Vallejo Liquid Gold, do you just add more isopropanol to the bottle to keep it reconstituted?
DarianZG 3 weeks ago
@DarianZG No, I don't. I throw away this pot and buy new one
Buypainted 3 weeks ago
@DarianZG No. I dilute paints only before painting

Does it make much difference if you use isopropanol instead of the Vallejo thinner?
Fury1987able 1 month ago
@Fury1987able Thinner is a vinyl resin, isopropanol is a isopropyl alcohol. The vinyl resin reacts with alcohol and make the paint useless

Fury1987able 1 month ago
@Fury1987able The paint is already suspended in alcohol - that's where the problem would arise from.

I got this paint and it was horrible. The paint inside was chunky as if someone left it open and dropped water inside.
HollowVampire 1 month ago
@HollowVampire This is old paint. When this paint gets old, a pigment gathers in "chunks/flakes" and paint becomes useless.

Thanks for all of your tutorials! Just curious, but do you use alcohol to thin all of your paints or just this liquid metallic series?

@chaoticflanagan The liquid gold series paints are alcohol based, so yes, just the liquid range.
