I don't have any white guilt, but I recognise that Native Americans got the raw end. The best way to have dealt with expansion would've been to buy land, not extort it and kill thousands of humans in the process and start unjust wars over it. Depending on which political thinker you look at, some have said we've been an empire for at least 60 years while others have said over 100 years. It might be helpful if any serious conservative were to pick up a book by Noam Chomsky, the "radical liberal thinker". I understand that, but I would prefer peaceful when at all possible. We have to address two main obsticles. One is the two party system that isn't. The second is the bureaucracy that inhibits free action. We need to repeal the 16 and 17 Amendments to start with after we get more Constitutionalists in office. We need to keep Congress from passing unConstitutional laws and then putting the onus on us to challenge them out of our own pocket.

We need states' rights to be resurrected, though eliminating a few other amendments and refining parts of others would work too. I believe that we are past peaceful solutions, when things start crashing down the Feds will desperately try to hang on. Constitutional government, the kind with original intent and states as the locus of power, is ok, but it would be much better if the empire was broken up, when things get too big to fail you put them into bankruptcy to whittle them down.
