hahaha love the little red dude what fish is he? oh and by the way i'm sarting a biocube in 29 gal form and was how much lbs of live rock would you need? this is my 1st tiem doing it so i dont wanna go too expensive here
i had the same problem take out the drip plate and put the filter pad on bioballs with the soft part up i know becouse i called the people that made this they sad that some filter pads make a dam so only do that when the water level gets to high
I think either his pump is getting weak or he doesn't put in water as much as us. I think his water volume is less than ours because you can hear the water falling from the far right chamger to the middle one. That happens when there is less water. I also replaced with more quiet and stronger pump so that might be another reason why my water level is like yours. I don't think it matters that much since a lot of water does go through the filtration system eventually.
I don't get what you mean. I live on 2nd floor and my stand and tank is clsoe to corner so when I started the pump, the water was flowing out and front right corner because of just how the floor is. I moved it forward (less close to walls) and now nothing happens except that water level seems a little higher in front than back but still water goes over a little on the back. Because of carpenting, corners of rooms are a little elevated according to an expert.
I like it. It comes with the proper lighting for soft corals and it is big enough for a starter as well as a small reef tank. the only bad thing is the bioballs. Take them out and put some chaeto and live rock rubble in instead
I just purchased the same protein skimmer but for my 14 gallon oceanic biocube. I installed it following the instructions and for some reason I am not seeing any bubbles when I plub it in. There is air being blown through the hose just not coming out of the piece of wood. Does it take a couple of days for it to work its way threw the wood?
if its the oceanic biocube skimmer i got one to and bubbles didnt come out of the wood, theres a little black rubber piece in that clear chamber in between the hose,i took it out so that it wouldnt stop the air from coming out and now it works good, mine is working very good for my 12 gallon.hope thats help.if you dont get it send me a message
you could but yellow tangs are really pushing it i would have a yellowtailed tang and about 3 clown fish in there get the clowns small as they will acomidate there size to the tank you have dont add them at one either clowns then tangs k
DO NOT put tanks in that small of a tank, 55 gallon is minimum (70 gallon plus recommended) for tangs, and they need at least 4 feet of horizantal swim space.
What kind of rock filter and sand are you using for your fish tank? can rocks and sand can be good for the sea anemones and corals? can you tell me what kind of rock filters and sand can I put in my aqua clear 130 for the 20gallon fish tank? PLEASE SEND
i have a skimmer for a 14 galloin it says it fits in the back it does but it pushes the filter out or the way i think the back of the 14s are diff then the 30 with how the filter is set up
Oh yea and if i get a 14g what kinds of fish and how many should i get?(Please Respond) Bye the way nice tank looks like ur really taking good care of it
Thanks. 14 gallon if a really small tank. My tank is pretty small itself. I wouldnt put more than 3 small fish in there just for their own health pruposes. Make sure you choose wisley. Dont put more than 2 clowns togehter. tangs are too big for your tank. There is a wide variety of clowns, gobies, wrasses, and other small species that you can put.
Yea Im getting a 14g biocube on Friday. I just ordered the same skimmer you have a few minutes ago for it. How many lbs of live rock do you think i need for a 14g if the rock was to look like urs?(Please Respond)
It works pretty fast. You will see a difference in the health of your fish in like 2 to 3 weeks. You wont have to put as much stress releiver solutions in the water as much. Plus it helps with limiting the amount of water changes you do a month. I still do my water change every two weeks cuz my nitrate level was a little high for a while but I got it back down to about 20-25 on average now.
Yes. You need to lower your air pump pressure to where you can barely see the bubbles above the black part at the top. It wont start building the foam over into the collection chamber for like an hour because it has to build up all that gunk.
I got the tank on ebay for 250. Same as the protein skimmer for 30. I modified the filteration in the back as i show in this video so i dont have to pay 15 dollars for a brand new filter every two weeks. I just bought a sheet and cut it up, it should last for about 6 months. Its not to expenseive if you know where to look, especially on ebay.
Thanks, remember the way I have my protein skimmer, you have to cut the top part of the replacement filters so the protein skimmer will sit right on it. The part of the replacement filter where you hold it to put it in and out.
YOU SHOULD DROP ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT AND ADD A SCHOOL OF DOLPHINS THEY WILL CLEAN YOUR TANK KALABANGA DUDE!!
