My anger was at full surge when I wrote my first comment. You see, I'd just been surfing some Beatles music for the first time in a long time, and I was remembering what their music, and that of their peers, meant to us when it was first released back in the day. (And yes, I am that old.) Then, to come across a couple of smirking sophmoric simpletons perverting one of Lennon's songs to advance the cause of a pos like Huckabee just set me off, and I gave full vent to my anger and disgust.

Some of Huckabee's followers are dangerous for the very reason that they don't see what his positions would lead to. They don't understand that the theocratic positions of the "christian right" are exactly the same as those of theocratic muslims. They don't understand that "abolishing the IRS" would simply lead to a greater concentration of wealth and power for the few, and would destroy what's left of the middle class.

And the other is your confidence both that a democrat will win the election, and that such a victory would necessarily advance the cause of liberty. But when it comes to political opinions, it's not a question of humility, it's a question of belief. Unlike many people, I actually know a little of this country's history, I've read the Constitution, and I understand where the principles contained therein come from.

I haven't been offended at all; I enjoy a healthy exchange of differing opinions. I only get offended when someone tries to impose their opinions in the place of facts, or differing beliefs. And I always try to respect people, unless they prove themselves unworthy of that respect. Just to be clear, I respect many people who have opinions that are very different from mine.

First of all, I'm not ready to use violence against anyone who disagrees with me; in fact, most of my life, I've eschewed violence. As I've stated, I've also had friends whose views were very different from mine, and I've enjoyed the exchange of ideas. But there are those who use violence. In case you're not aware of it, nazis and aryan brotherhood types have used violence, in this country. They've murdered Jews and African Americans as a matter of "principle."
