  • I agree with the Raoul part.

  • What version was you watching? I have the blu ray, nobody dropped any apples in that and I didn't see any mined singing.

  • @zaftra This review was about the live screening of the show. The blu ray or dvd release probably edited it out, but in the live broadcast the apple was dropped in the Don Juan scene before Point of No Return.

  • I see, that's interesting, on the blu ray, she picks the apple off the table, then the phantom takes it off her and puts it on the table. It wasn't thrown. There where several night screenings may be they changed it to avoid the embarrassment. Or the blu ray is an edit job of the best of all nights.

  • @zaftra Oh it wasn't Christine. That part went fine. Carlotta tossed the apple to another person during the choral part before PONR and he dropped it

  • Just had a recheck, apples thrown and apples caught. Must be a clever edit or edited in from a different night. Disappointing, would have like to have seen that. Been funny.

  • i think he choose the right christine ,because Sierra is one of the christines who just not only sing but acts the role amazing .Ok Sierra didnt play the role for so often but id rater see her than an other actress .Gina will be the new glinda so she has anough to work on .

  • @delibessylvia3 Sierra was nearly perfect and I think she is a wonderful actress and has a beautiful voice, but I stand by my opinion that no matter how wonderful she is, the role should have gone to a West End actress who had played Christine at Her Majesty's Theatre, which is the production they were celebrating. (Same with Raoul, should have actually played the role at some point). There were at least 5 West End Christines in the chorus that would have been stunning as well.

  • @animelover13579 well i think webber has his reason why he didnt choose one of them .I just love sierra and think she did an perfect job on the concert and ramin and her have so much chemistry

  • Let's make a petition for John owen-Jones to do a phantom cast recording! I saw the 25th in the theatres and Ramin was good but when John started singing in the finale the crowd went wild! John will always be the true Phantom. Next to Michael Crawford of course.

  • @mattg177 I mean, he's going to be the Phantom in the new tour in the uk. Maybe they'll record that?

  • By the way, how did you like Sara Jean Ford and Hugh Panaro in New York?

  • @ravenclawisdom Absolutely loved them. SJF has a lovely voice and Hugh is an intensely maniacal Phantom. Both were fantastic!

  • Ok so I know I already commented on your last video but I really enjoy talking about this. First of all I might be completely wrong with this and you can call me out on this if I am. Now i'm not very familiar with west end Christines seeing that I am from the US. But I was wondering if maybe some of the casting had to do with looks... like as you could tell every person on that stage was gorgeous. I don't know if maybe that had to do with it, seeing that they were going to be filmed close up.

  • I havn't seen the concert yet, but your review has got me hyped for the DVD. I won't have to watch the movie when I need a Phantom fix anymore haha. I love Sierra's voice, but I agree in saying that JOJ should've been the Phantom. I have the DVD or Ramin w/ Gina, and while I think he wasn't an aweful Phantom, there are other's I like better thn him (JOJ and Gary Mauer being my two current favorites).

  • @drjax1994 It is a much better adaptation than the movie, to say the least haha!

I'm in the same boat, Ramin certainly isn't awful, but I have my favourites. He was pretty good at the concert, but JOJ takes the cake for me.

  • @animelover13579 Have you heard Gary Mauer? He is an amazing Phantom.

  • @drjax1994 I have indeed and I like him a lot.

  • I did actually like Hadley Fraser's take on Raoul. It was kind of refreshing to see the Phantom have a worthy adversary and not just someone who would shrivel at the sight of him. He wasn't "foppish," which would have been a simpler characterization to portray. Also, considering he and Ramin have almost a bromance, it's fun to see them duke it out in the show.

And as much as I love Sierra, Gina Beck would've rocked it. I adore her. =)

  • 6) I noticed both RK and JOJ using Piangi's accent too!

    7) Seeing Katie's Christine pressing against the mask so distinctly during PONR a week before I saw the 25th ann., I agree Sierra should have done that. Much more clear.

    8) Final Lair. Yes. Erik not realizing he was hurting Christine and then checking his hand after releasing her? I'm sorry, I know it's twisted, but it worked. Ramin pulled it off.

    9) When Sierra left Erik, just...yes. Despite LND...yes. Perfect execution.

  • 1) I love hearing you talk about all these West-Enders and knowing EXACTLY who and what you're talking about :]

    2) I was not a fan of Hadley as well. And I totally noticed his guyliner as well.

    3) I love the new Red Death mask. It eerily matches the words he sings while moving.

    4) Notes II gets me every time, vocally and emotionally and Sierra is just a BRILLIANT actress.

    5) Agree with you on ALL accounts of Sierra's 'Wishing', even though Gina Beck is my favorite Christine.

  • I was really disappointed in the Chandelier. It's an important character in the show and all it did was shoot fire-works! Oh well, I guess this is as good as it's gonna get.

  • Great review. If not Sierra and Hadley, who would you have chosen to be Christine and Raoul? Oh and I totally agree with you and movietreasure about that Peter Joback guy. I think even Andrew and Cameron were embarrassed for him.

  • @margzylow Well I love the current Christine, Sofia Escobar, so that would have been lovely. Tabitha Webb is great too, and Gina Beck would have been fantastic because she and Ramin had great chemistry in the show together.

I enjoyed Will Barratt and Simon Bailey in the role, and I haven't seen Killian but I hear he's great. I really would have preferred a West End cast. But that's just me.

Like I said, Sierra was great and I LOVED her, but the role should have gone to a west end christine

  • "It's not a happy ending, but it's the right ending" WELL SAID!

I wasn't happy at all with the concert, the only thing I liked was Carlotta and Ramin & Sierra's acting which I thought was absolutely brilliant. Hadley Fraser ruined the show for me and Peter Jöback is to Phantom as Nick Jonas was to Les Mis which made me even angrier. He should not have been there, he didn't deserve to be there and I can't believe he got cast to replace JOJ in 2012!
