Yes I like the brasslite out of all the stoves as it seems very straight forward nothing to ASSEMBLE and is adjustable. Thanks Shug now you dont got any eat any of them canned meats n crackers from the dollar store cause you all know what those are made of.. LoL. Because you will have to dial "Niiiiiine Onnnnnnne Onnnnnne" LoL.
Shug, 2 seemingly dumb questions for ye. What alcohol do you prefer? U can tell me for drinking, but I am asking for the stove mainly. I need to make a wind screen. Any advice?
Hey ... great vids question is there any chance of the resin that they are coated inside with making you sick? I understand the resin is activated and degrades at 160 degrees. ?
@shippen2010 I'll let you know! I hear as long as water is boiling in the pot it is OK but ...who knows. I don't really boil in the beer can pots as often as most think. Be safe...follow your own groove.
@shugemery .. Thanks Shug. My dog decided to redesign, my favorite, 16 year old Canvas Safari Hat! I liked the fit your getting with the "Panama Jack - Marina Bay Hat". Does this make me a groupie >:)
Leprechauns are illegal aliens. They have to be. The INS has never issued Green Cards to any of them and none have never ever passed the required test for citizenship.

I'd build me a little cabin somewhere with the dough I made. I'd build it right near the woods, but not in them, because I'd want it to be sunny as hell all the time. -- Holden Caulfield, The Catcher In The Rye by JD Salinger.
Nice, I've tried many times to make that pot, but I can't seem to get the top cut off correctly. BTW just Saw Mary Poppins in NY last week! it was great .. Thanks for the video.
21 minutes on 3/4 oz fuel!? This stove stuff amazes me. Makes the Supercat stove look like a cat food can with some holes punched in it. Well I guess it is, but I digress
Your poor camera has been thrown in the air, knocked over, ran through fire, lol.
Shug, always like seeing your videos man, really appreciate the time you put in to them. One of my favorite youtubers for sure!
Shug, I fear you are going to touch off a quasi-arms race between yourself and that cat "Tinny" from MiniBull Designs. He's probably in the garage right now, mechanical pencil in hand, trying to sketch out a better stove than yours. The Japanese may have Toyota, Honda and Mitsubishi but we've got you and Tinny.
OK you caught me... I use a heiny pot / pop can stove set up. I guess I wont enjoy it as much if I dont use a hundred dollar rig to boil water..... Excellent video.
Anyway, I'm sort of glad they've got the atomic bomb invented. If there's ever another war, I'm going to sit right the hell on top of it. I'll volunteer for it, I swear to God I will. ~J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye, Chapter 18
Just keep in mind that beer cans have a thin plastic inner lining that is not at all made to withstand heat. Every time you cook with it you are drinking those tasty Bisphenols (BPA) which is not at all good for you. This is why a Snow peak or similar cook pot is a far better choice. I never understood why someone would choose to go out into the piny woods, only to bring along a toxic cook pot.
Other than that, Love your Videos Shug. Keep em coming!!!
@Tiponga69 I am aware of what you speak of. I may worry if I did it everyday. To be honest....I cook mainly in my aluminum pot that is said to be bad too. Morning is when I may boil a brew in the beer pot.
The cigars I smoke and my past deeds will more than likely kill me first.
I do appreciate you caring though. The vids will keep coming.
@shugemery No worries Shug. My comment was more directed to the general public as a Public Service Announcement. We all have a few toxic skeletons in our closet and a hot cuppa cocoa cooked in a beer pot wont kill anyone. As far as cooking in Aluminum pots, while a hard anodized aluminum pot is better than a raw aluminum pot for a few reasons, cooking in Aluminum is not really bad for you unless you are cooking acidic foods. The whole "aluminum causes alzheimers" is a good deal of bad science.
thanks for the review I am hard on my gear you I'm uncerain any beer can pot would survive for long. Great video Shug. from what I have seen in your videos i like the idea of a mini alcohol stove but i have a few general questions.
1. I Usually camp with a group of people 3-4 and i am concerned about how much water these stoves can boil when it comes to volume? we always have a Kraft Dinner night and we boil 3-4 boxes. which is probably around 4-5 liters of water once. and we always do hot cereal for breakfast. is there a a smaller alcohol stove that can accommodate that?
mwilez 9 months ago
@mwilez First off you may want to check out the site zenstovesdotnet. TONS of alcohol stove info.
1)Alky stoves generally are not big volume stoves in my opinion. More of a solo camper stove and used to boil 1 or 2 cups of water or so.
I cannot say for sure if there is one to boil the amount of water you need for the 4 box meal in one burn.
Look at minibulldesigndotcom and some of his remote filled stoves.
