I have kinda seen that it doesn't emulate that well. I would recommend just using IE 7 if you don't have a need to use IE 8.

after klick emulate ie7 u have to restart the ie. then finish!

Kepp in mind it is a beta, and it won't be perfect. I had problems with it too, and I ended up uninstalling it. If you don't need it, I would just go with IE 7.
