Raise prices on people to change their behavior regarding energy use? I completely disagree with Obama on every single method he is using to achieve the ends. I may agree with the end but not enslavement and bankruptcy of the country to force it. He must go and the sooner the better. Does anyone realize that Chicago teachers work shorter years, 5 hour 45 minute days, and after a few years of teaching are making $100,000 a year? This makes quality time for learning and funding impossible. As a senator, Obama had the chance to make serious changes to this system. Instead, he persuades the union to fund and endorse them in his campaign for presidency and then repayed them back later in 2008. Then he walked away with nothing being "changed."

Aside from the idea of the government controlling public behavior by "signaling" through price "spikes" being abhorrent, I also believe this is highly illegal. It's called price fixing. I wish I had more legalese on that, but people have gone to prison for such things.

Usually 'price fixing' alludes to collusion between suppliers of a product or service. If the govt. does it, the excuse is they're 'helping the little man' and the reason is their buddies are makin' the big bucks.
