@TabooMasterWatcher 1 of the ps3 cores are inactive, 2 of them are for security, 4 of them are for games, and the rest arent used by anything special(they CAN be used for games, but there is no point as it only adds processing power) Just face it, the ps3 is outdated.

@nissengummihone The PS3 does not have seven cores. It has one PowerPC core (PPE), which is used for all tasks, and seven SIMD units (SPEs), just like the ones used as stream processors on GPUs. Out of those seven, one is reserved by the hypervisor for XMB, while all other six are available for games.

I hate it how people hate Nintendo because of the graphics. Nintendo knows that NORMAL people don't care about graphics, and that NORMAL people care about gameplay. When I had my N64, I didn't care about how the game looked, I just cared about how they game was played. People now think that better graphics = better game. We nintendo fans know better than that.

@mpdkrm Well said. All I ask is visuals are functional and can show some imagination. Gameboy proved this with programmers having pull off some wicked tricks. the HD consoles, mainly 360's success comes from people wanting the latest this and that. As soon as the latest XBOX comes out, they'll chuck 360 in record time. NORMAL gamers like Nintendo fans would likely keep their Wii along side their NES and enjoy grat games from all times.

If Nintendo is going to start trying to aquire the good 3rd party games, that's usually on Xbox 360 and PS3, then you will have a beasty console that plays the same games as Xbox and PS3 (minus Microsft and Sony 1st party games), but also plays nintendo's amazing 1st party games, which have an untouchable track record. I really hope the leaked specs are wrong. If it truly sports next gen hardware I will buy it, but if it has an ATI 4800 series GPU, PPC CPU from 2008 and 512 mb memory at $450 I won't be getting it.

@Shovelware ps3 Grapics card its nearly 6 years old (2005) nintendo will be using a modified top to medium range arc from R700 which is 4 years old (2008) but with triple-core chipset just like xbox 360 and ps3 plus the clocking speeds will be faster. So games on next nintendo console can well be capable of doing 1080p natively with 60fps unlike ps360. Best hoping they really widen there stance in gaming for the true gamers. BF3/crysis2 should looks super hot and smooth.

@xAfroMetalHead1990x all im suggesting is from the detail that were leaked and i could be wrong but i believe my estimate is around what i mensioned but wont know fully until more confirmed spec released. Obviously the R700(2008) is superier to PS3's NVIDIA 7800GTX(2005)-based processor but you could argue about latest Nvidia(2011)but this is nintendo and i think it will cetainly outperform current gen as they are now 6 years old.
