Why don't we drop the term feminism for a more fitting term like gender equality, isn't that what it's all supposed to be about? But I can point to millions of working class men (esp. of color men) who toil away for shit wages, with no healthcare, no pension, and plenty more marginalization than a white, middle class feminist will ever experience.

Feminists are extremely comfortable with the "rigid gender roles" of men doing the hardest, most dangerous, and most necessary jobs to keep society running.

I think you're just mad that men don't have their own movement! Both sides have their statistics, and the sexes turning on each other is not the solution. Feminists are not out for equality they are out for anything that pushes women forward in society even if they unfairly subjugate men in the process. So by pushing women's issues foreword while demonizing men they have helped bring those statistics into being. They have over shadowed human rights with women's rights.

It's not necessarily something that must be a full-time role though (it can be shared equally between parents), nor one that must be delegated to women.

@johnman1911 No she didn't. She did refer to the fact that caretaking is traditionally considered a female role, but she didn't say that being a primary caretaker was exclusive to women.

Being a primary caretaker is very different from workplaces where one never leaves, and yes, it is more tiring and tough and draining than all but very few careers.

Steinem is not preaching superiourity of females. She's preaching a notion of fairness. You're reading her very wrong.
