After Link wakes, we see the King addressing his soldiers about the current situation. Since the only that could cure Zelda was the first thing that Vaati blasted, the King is desperate enough to reveal that the Picori, tiny little fairies from legend, are in fact REAL.
Since the Picori was forged by them, the only way to fix is to find them and ask them. And since the only humans they show themselves to are children, Link is automatically drafted.

Sorta sucks, don't it? At least facing off monsters and exploration into unknown is worth it to save yer girlfriend, right? AND you get to keep the sword yer grandpa gave you, so your not COMPLETELY defenseless.
Meanwhile, the King is sending out an APB on Vaati. He also tells you where to go first and grandpa provides you with a map.
Monsters right outside the castle?! Crap, there were more in that box than I thought...
Can you just cut down those vines covering the doorways?

You have to combine 2 kinstones and if you get the right ones the vines disappear.
