@HoopsTGG Hi there - guess you know by now but the actual socket on the HD2000 is 2.5mm but it comes with a short extension cable which sizes it up to 3.5mm. Everything we shoot and edit has used this super little camera up until now, check out some of our clips on our channel if you like (click on our username).
@Duok2008 The mic looks like a Panasonic AG-MC200G. I'm guessing there's an XLR to 1/8 adapter not shown here because this camera only has an 1/8" input. But there are actually microphones similar to this that go directly to 1/8" to avoid having to buy that extra piece.
@Duok2008 if you're interested in mics for the Sanyo HD2000 then first of all you need to know it does not supply power over the 3.5mm/2.5mm connector. So any mic you use must have its own onboard power. We use the Azden ECZ990 in our films and it works perfectly with this great camera. The zoom function gives a quick and easy lapel mic approximation as well and the battery lasts an age. Only draw back is no indicator that sound is coming in either on the camera or mic, so always use earphones.
@ngvgnDOTcom So as to make it less consuming for memory? Then yea, that would be good. But it's a myth that 24p is best. The higher the number (i.e. 60p), the better the video.
@HoopsTGG Higher the number is not all ways better. It's what the film maker wants. 60FPS can only be viewed on the computer then the file is in the hard drive. 24p has more of a film look then 30fps. It just comes down to want you want. There is no best.
@ngvgnDOTcom The only reason a film maker might want a lower frame rate would be an artistic choice. As far as quality goes, a higher number would be better. And fun fact: most modern theaters project in something along the lines of 72p.
fh11 has no external mic, but hd 2000 has, get the hd2000 over fh1 yes is like $100 more, but the external mic jack, better design, easier to hold for long period of time pay off.
Great camera, bad picture quality.

He wasn't directing, he was acting and operating a camera which in all likelihood was not actually on.
