O...m...g...Okay so Im obessed with "We are The Night" a ratpack film...And in skool we just got done reading the wave so i was just watching a video for We are the night and they said Ratpack also did The Wave so im like..No way cus we r gunna be watching it tm...so i look..and OMFGGG<3 ima love it
Love this movie. Already have watched 3 times. First in German lesson and in german ( but I didn't understand at all) then 2 times in English. This is a movie with a deep meaning.
@MissSalvatore93 I know why you didn´t understood all...cuz the teens in this movie are speaking some german slang...it´s harder to understand for "no-germans"
Does anybody know any other great films of this region? American films tend to lack depth, and have too many "risk" formulas that eat away at the quality and length of the films. They tend to lose their creative touch for big money and good-looking covers. But lately I've seen some good foreign films and despite having to read subtitles they usually have better acting and music.
@RecklessTheory "Napola - Elite für den Führer" thats an other german movie...it´s prety good... it shows that not every german at this time was a NAZI...
@RecklessTheory Hey there! I would recommend "Nordwand" ("North Face"). The (real) story is fantastic, the acting is great and the location is beautiful.
@Tomochan95 Because of the history Germany endured while Hitler was in power. He did the same thing that the teacher did. The teacher was proving a point that anyone could fall under the power of manipulation and can be persuaded to do anything. This movie can help you understand what happened in the 1940s so it will not happen again.
@pmmhjabsrock it also teaches that the type of community under this power is similar to the old fashion democracy, in that one dictatorship in disguise has the power to sway the majority and instill propaganda. Rarely does a community actually know how to work together without corruption. The best way for a community to exist is to accept it's own diversity. Tim never really had real friends until the wave, he was rejected for overdoing things, which was just his effort to fit in.
@shackielackie Like, go back to school and learn how to spell you illiterate fiend. And the movie isn't strange to people that can think. And why not a musical, this is a talented and important topic people should know
@carvin1984 1. what did I spell wrong? and if I did sorry Im dutch. 2. can I have my opinion? I know that others can like it but to me it was kinda strange. and btw 3. i'm still in school -_-
@carvin1984 good one... the Dutch have their place, you have yours. What's the problem? You can't speak dutch or despise their people? As little as it is, it's unmeasurable to what it could become. They can't undo being Dutch, they can only be themselves and hold the same differences that every person has. Germany is a great place, with a rough past only because of tons of little remarks like this taunting them to defend their origins and uphold respect for their people just as any.
@0135micky How is this film weird? You don't understand what the film is about? It's simple really, involves loss of freedom due to acts of brainwashing.
The movie has too much drama (not that i don't like it it its because its not like the book) but its seems really good

I know that.
I've read many books about this theme and I also visited the concentration camp in Dachau.
Or what do you mean?

The wave could have worked out if they kept it as a secret organization.
