haha thats damian ross the instructor of self defense training company training in the same studio in his videos as chirs pizzo in his close combat videos lol interesting... to see how they are all intertwined.. but after wathcing all 3 guys cestari is obviously the best.
@wmegenney Carl taught Damian Ross who intern taught Chris Pizzo. Pizzo didn't learn all that well and had little contact with Carl. Trust me Mr. Ross is a force to be reckoned with, but Carl remains the man. He learned from the best and was constantly learning, and he had plenty of real world experience. I assure you learning with Mr. Ross is very much worth your time. Pizzo in my opinion isn't worth it.
This man is a professional. I'm very grateful that you uploaded some of his videos. I have dealt with many different self defenses for about 6 years now (doing boxing and jiu jitsu and judo in the past, aswell as 4 years taekwondo and many selfdefense training camps combined with roman greco wrestlin). This man does show techniques that have proven to be very efficient and you can use them even though your opponent was bigger. Thank you mister cestary, very good fighter
I don't care what Bob wrote in his book, get your facts straight before posting. Carl stopped being a cop in NJ not NY in the early 80's. He did not lose his finger until the late 90's, and that was do mostly to his illness. Also that article had to do with Carl accidentally shooting another cop not making an arrest.
Search Carl P Cestari - you will find: The Region; 'Policeman Killed Another Held'. See Bob Kasper's 'Sting of the Scorpion' p.49. quote: 'an old friend and associate quickly dispatched two assailants after one of them bit off the ring finger of his strong hand.' Carl was right handed as per the photos on his site and is missing his right ring finger in this clip. He and Kasper were associated for a long time. I Dont think Kasper had too many other friends missing their right ring fingers.
Easy to overlook a guy like Cestari - had a low profile, still one of the best. Was a cop in NY, lost that finger during an arrest - perp. bit it right off his hand. Reckon he got the best end of it though, he killed the guy and his buddy in the struggle.
@stecha2 It was a fight where he wasn't trying to hurt the person (he knew him and the person was a drug addict), and it was bitten and became infected sadly. Didn't slow Carl down at all though.
notice carl has his finger missing like Altair in Assassins Creed one?

Seriously , who gives a ....? I put these vids on youtube to show a litlle more than the standard 30 sec clips that are around.
There are quite a few discussion boards out there where you can discuss all the details.
