is this available in its entirety. i have a multi-region dvd player that can handle old american colourtv signals. but black n white would be cool also.
@hizzert Oh yeah... Forgot that was his real name. Sorry, thought you confused him for the original wind player from King Crimson who Judy Dyble collaborated with in Giles, Giles, and Fripp.
If you ever want to discover just how talented Richard Thompson is, listen to some of his solo albums, particularly "Henry the Human Fly". This guy is an undiscovered genius.
@rocktenniscat I know! Its great to see footage of Martin! he helped create some amazing music that will still be listened to 100 years from today!! He will never be forgotten,he was such a young Guy!!
Oh my God - stunning. As shocking as finding "Lark in the Morning" by the Martin Carthy era Steeleye Span in what appears to be somebody's hotel room.
Great to see these vids after so many years - I think I was there with them - but I can't remember for sure - it was the 60's! Thanks Jude - thanks Jon, John Penhallow
this is astonishing. i have been a Fairport Convention fan for over 30 years, own every record and almost all their 45s and i had not seen or heard this. clearly taken from the same program taping for Time will show the wiser. these guys were totally hip on the west coast sound. they were accused of ripping off the Jefferson Airplane sound, but they chose to cover LA artists like Tim Buckley (here) and Joni Mitchell, in addition to masterful covers of Dylan. thanks YouTube to bring this to light
Iain used the name Ian MacDonald when this song was recorded, he changed it to Ian Matthews when he left Fairport to avoid confusion with King Crimson's Ian McDonald. He now spells his name 'Iain'
I'm just saying as well ...all credit has been correctly given where due...
My God!!!! It's second part of gig from French TV!!!! Thank you jonnybrilliant !!!! You are great!!!! This performing is just fantastic!! This version of 'Morning Glory' is incredible!! Ian Matthews sings beautiful !!! I love this one! I still can't believe that I saw it.
this is fantastic..i didn't know that fairport had ever covered this...and yes, tim buckley is the writer...originally the closing song on his second album "goodbye and hello."
Chrissie Hynde does a great version of this too...

Great guitar break by Thompson. Powerhouse band and stayed that way with Denny. Dyble was good in her own right.

It's not Ian MacDonald, it's Ian Matthews.

My god, Ian Matthews singing my favourite Tim Buckley song, with Judy Dyble playing recorder. Amazing beyond words! Had no idea this existed.
Look forward to the rest.
