This is a really great original photo so props to the photographer! Both sets of edits are good in this one but I think Jared has the win in this one. The contrast and colour really makes the photo pop out!  Good job! I don't use lightroom tutorials...I watch these edit videos and they teach me more!

I think this one is one of the bests RAW edits!!

This is a SO GOOD example of the advatages of shooting & edit RAW. I am used from now on when anybody ask me why RAW and not JPEG!

Jared, on the comment about not showing a photo because you cut off a very small part, would a frame not hide and/or have the same effect? I'm not too sure but just a side thought, I assume most people would frame their favourite wedding photos?

Hey, Jared, I feel like my images are just simply not ever sharp enough. Could this be any number of things? I'm shooting a Fujifilm S2 Pro, with either a 50mm f/1.8 Nikon Pre-D AF, a 70-210mm f/4-5.6 Nikon Pre-D AF, and a 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G Nikon. I shoot entirely in RAW at maximum resolution, which is 6.1 or so megapixels on the Fuji S2. I usually use RawTherapee to edit my raw files, and when I zoom in to various areas I can never find one that seems tack sharp. Any thoughts?

Just a quick tip:

When you double click the word next to a editing slider, Lightroom will reset your settings at just this slider.

Jared's edits really worked well with this file IMO. The colours on the top one are great, and his black and white seemed well stylised. Maybe more detail in the hair and dog would be nice, but I liked the way it dealt with the background :)

hey Jared im getting an upgrade for my gear soon but im unsure of what to upgrade should i get one of the holy trinity (Hebrew trinity) or get a new body (d3s or d4) if you could help me out deciding that would be great!

right now im working with a D90 35mm 105mm micro and a 400mm 5.6 sigma and the kit lens as well as an sb-700 i mainly do wildlife photography but im expanding into portraiture for the money
