That is the bad part about cats that aren't fixed. Males don't want to back down. When I lived downtown I had the same problem. Waking up in the middle of the night and trying to find out where the staring contest was. Yep, the one that runs is the one that gets attacked. Turn that back. Those cats are tearing themselves up!
