I would advise any muslim woman in the U.S. and other western to make sure to do a LEGAL marriage in addition to her nikah to seure herself and her children financially. This way another woman will not be a threat to your position. You don't want to be married to your husband for years and establish a home with him only for another to come enjoy what you worked for with your husband. He will obviously be spending money on her. I don't want that to come from my money.
How many men nowadays can actually afford more than one family? I mean seriously.Men need to think ahead when thinking of making such a huge decision as taking another wife. We live in financially hard times and polygamy is only feasible for the very wealthy men. You should be making at least $100,000 a year or more. Think about how many more children you will be responsible for. Wait, I forgot, most of these men just depend on the government to take care of their wives.

Thank you for this video. A lot of brothers just pick and choose parts of the ayah they like. They forget the part about treating them justly and being able to AFFORD more than 1 wife. They just focus on the part that says just marry 2, 3, or 4. lol...A lot of brothers, especially in the west cannot afford it financialy anyway. They just love the idea. They want to marry every attractive woman they see. They are quick to ignore the first wife's feelings and dismiss her as jealous.

Sisters are not supposed to do that, but men can't handle that situation inside or outside of Islam. Women will always question why their husband needs another woman. salam sister.. well soem brothers do it for the sake of ALLah.. to make sure other sisters can hav e and rase a fam because woman out number men and that will continue to rize.. to 50/1.. 2 so men honestly need more then 1 for sexual presuse its just the way they are 3.. some men like more company or what hudge famlies. there is many reasons sister.. but alot of men like you said to not follow tnhe rule right. and they will awnser for it. i hope thats awnser you a little

Men and women are equal, yet the man and women are not the exact same.
Women judge more based on emotions (phsycologist tell us that)) and men tend to be more to the point/ logical..
God has put something in men (Something you as a sister can NEVER understand)
But God has allowed us to have more then 1 wife without that "reason" you are expecting us to have. It's a privilage , and we want it.

Ofcourse it's a slap to a womans pride. Men in general want more then 1 female. i can't tell you how many serial polygamist I have met. they have no shame and they are quick to say that it is their right. It's your right to have been married 10,12,13 times. Some men do mean well, but in a society where sex is highly abused most men are useing it for halal sex. Sisters on welfare and foodstamps while their husband marry on and off with no fear of ALLAH(SWT).

@dessani so are you call me a disbeliever ? if you actually took the time out to listen to my video bro ... you would see that i say that polygamy is something that ALLAH has decreed and i am the slave of ALLAH so what ever HE has decreed i hear and obey. The whole message of the video was to share my thoughts because this ummah has many brothers who mistreat their first wife and then decide to get another .... if you treat your wifekindly, justly and respectfully then i wasnt talking to you

I had forgotten to add to the part that Allah rewards the Sister who accepts a wonderful marriage from a wonderful Brother if he is Married, more than he rewards a women who marries a single man. "If he takes him 'another wife', her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage shall he not diminish is evident to even a casual reader of Old Testament that not only is polygamy permitted but also practiced, and that regulations for that have been stipulated in the scriptures.

@monstergater Abraham had three wives; Jacob had 2 wives besides concubines; Moses did not forbid it, instead he brought Laws to regulate it, as has been mentioned in the previous heading.

Thank you for this video. A lot of brothers just pick and choose parts of the ayah they like. They forget the part about treating them justly and being able to AFFORD more than 1 wife. They just focus on the part that says just marry 2, 3, or 4. lol...A lot of brothers, especially in the west cannot afford it financialy anyway. They just love the idea. They want to marry every attractive woman they see. They are quick to ignore the first wife's feelings and dismiss her as jealous.

@kimfalls..It amazes me that the brothers are quick to state why women are sojealous...let the wife look for 2nd husband and see what happens. Sisters are not supposed to do that, but men can't handle that situation inside or outside of Islam. Women will always question why their husband needs another woman. I'm not married, but I would want to be the only wife. If the topic of a 2nd wife comes up, I would get a divorce and allow him to get his four wives. May Allah (swt) forgive me.

Speak Sister, SPEAK!!! I'm glad you had the courage to tackle this subject. I think a lot of women feel this way, the majority I'm sure. Some Brothers are just greedy and use the fact that they are allowed to in Islam to have multiple wives.
Some Brothers do it for lust, but when it was allowed in Islam, it was not for lust - it was because of the widows of war and so on. Brothers now see a pretty young muslimah and get greedy!!! NOT ALL - BUT MANY!!!

Brothers have told me TO MY FACE, that they want multiple wives simply 'BECAUSE IT'S ALLOWED'.
