Hey Chris I'm an long time sub from Sweden started out from this. Cannel then got to know theres an geekgroup one and I was stunned. You got the best humor and the best content by far. Wouldn't an arbor press be the ideal tool to resolve the transformer constipation?

I'm totally broke, and cant scrape much (the flags I will send you are delayed due to my utter brokeness) but I heard that harbor freight had some cheap 2ton presses like, 60 to 80 bucks a piece..

If their tools are not too crappy, it might be the thing!

And I bet that would be usefull also for the mechanics, robotics, etc, changing bearings, sleeves, and the like, and maybe making cores poop their copper!

@siouxsettewerks Well they could have put it in the drill press or the mill and drilled the wiring out.... and they didn't do that cause it's a terrible idea :)

I dont suppose its a good idea to dissasemble the e-i plates as they are supposed to be insulated from each other in the center, and its hard not to damage the coating.

Dont they create eddy currents in the shorted plates? i may be talking rubbish :-)

why did you guys do it the hard way? (the transformer), i just use an angelgrinder and cut open the welds and just use a wooden dowel to push the windeings out. and rewinde it, and weld it back together.

I suspect he climbs up the shelving and sticks the camera at the top.
