So many see Norman's swing and talk about his wide stance and single plane, but the real gems in his swing was 1) the angeled hinge (clubface perpendicular to swing plane (shaft plane) in backswing and followthrough) 2) the right hand palm grip, in straight angle with right under arm angle 3) the big downswing lateral shift
These are the real intersting things about Moe's swing.
Set up a tee 22” in front of your ball, grab a wedge, and see if you can hit that tee. Lordy. Good stuff! Even if you don’t agree with his grip, set up, etc., just trying to get into his frame of mind and imagining how pure his compression must be...
Next time I’m on the range, I’m going to try to embody his rhythm, tempo...and say things like, “Goes straight every time.” a lot. Sorta sing-songy-like. “Ho-hum.” “See it and do it.” “Ladeedah.” “Just seein’ the good stuff.” Love it.
This method about drove me to suicide. Tied me up in knots it did. Anybody that fell for the "Palms Grip" is due a huge financial settlement from Natural Golf Inc.
@xxxMrSuspendedxxx He says he grips it in the palm of right hand, but I don't think he did really. He has very small hands though so it's hard to know exactely how he gripped it for me. More in fingers I would say.
@maxxsee Oh it works, but it'll tie you up in knots unless you totally commit to it. It's quite an athletic move it seems to me, and I grimace every time Moe spouts about "no effort, no struggle." Yeah, he was a quasi autistic locked in his private world of his swing and Coke soda. That dip and lateral move is something else.
thanks so much for this rare tape
