If I were to engineer and design all in one PC's, I would just have the monitor with an attachable keyboard via cord or valcro, that's not wireless because of safety concerns, that pulls out from the bottom or is able to slide beneath the monitor at adjustable angles.

I have this computer. Hell, I'm typing on the touch-screen keyboard right now! It's... awesome, at the very least. The only downside? It smears. Easily. If you ever commit a crime, a detective could get all the fingerprints they need, just off the screen. But, still. Best. Computer. Ever.

Vaio Media Gallery looks so nice! Sony's in-house globe software is amazing, too. The one thing I would really love to see is a built-in antenna to pick up over-the-air HD signals for radio and TV.

@lizard0manson My understanding is that Windows 7 was designed with touch screen capabilities in mind. A tap with your finger would probably register as a click. Windows 7's bigger icons and newer right-click menus for the taskbar make touch screen that much more easier.

haha so what... that mapping software sucks, and sony couldnt even bundle their own bluray software and instead included software thats not even compatible with windows 7. Sony needs to step it up.. this is just computer with a touchscreen that has some media software from sony.... there's nothing new here. Just new for sony. Sony are better then HP, HP make printers, Sony has been making Computers for a long time now, unlike HP, I think Sony is fixing some bugs that HP can not find, TouchScreen has been here for a long time now, but not on the desktop, you need to think about how the user is going to touch the computer, how hard, how fast, from what i have seen, Sony are doing a good job. There is software in there you can not see, you need to think about updates too,

I bought this system a couple of months ago and I am still in the honeymoon stage. This machine is nothing short of incredible. I am still discovering hidden features. I just purchased a turquoise skin for the keyboard and it is a fun touch to a fun machine. I can run many applications and this Vaio doesn't even hiccup. I can only image what a dream this would be if I ramped up the RAM from 8 to 12 Gigs.

I´m a software developer and our application is based on touchscreen interface on panelpc and I would love to try out programming for multitouch but our screens is resistive so they dont support it.

To those thinking that touchscreen is useless on desktopcomputers I must say that after working with them for 2 years now I cant remember how many times I have tried to push on stuff on my laptop(that doesnt have touch :) ) Its really usefull and easy to use

In regards to long lifetime, I would have to agree. I am using an ultraportable VAIO TX laptop from 2005 and it is still going strong. Its specs still hold up with the netbooks of today! I remember when I first bought it people thought it was such a marvel, and now you see tiny notebooks like that everywhere.

I've dropped it so many times, and its traveled with me thousands of miles and still works as good as day one. Plus I put Windows 7 on it!

I tried out the voice recognition software (part of Windows) and it is fun to do. Works well with the Quad Core CPU. Don't know about the others as I got the L116 model - SWEEEEET!

I'm sure this L Series would've been way more interesting if it came with an Intel i5 or i7, 8Gb of DDR3 and SATA 6Gb.

Sonyinsider, if you really wanted to impress us, you should've installed a tryout of Photoshop CS4 x64 and tell us if it's as smooth and resoibsuve as the Sony homebuilt media manager.

Sony (along with HP) have this bad habit of bloating their product with useless softwares, or that are just poorly coded. If I buy a Sony, I'll probably use iTunes like everyone, so these kind of boxed software are nicely designed, easy on the eye, but always being a duplicate with user's favorite apps.
