Maybe it's just me and my perspective of this is wrong. But I always viewed Powder as an angel in the form of a human body, who displayed the concept of perfect love, beauty, compassion, and wisdom. In the end he was brought home away from the disgustness and evil of the world.

I think that powder wanted to be part of something, and as we saw in the movie, he realizes that humanity would never accept someone like him, so he decided to go where he can really be himself and that was nature! (Sorry my english :P)

This movie has one of my fav actors in it, Lance Henriksen. And is probably one of his best performances after Alien. Only found this movie two days ago and I don't regret it! It's one of the best movies I've seen.
I'm 24 years old, and it makes me so sad that many people do not remember nor acknowledge this movie! It is so well directed, and the acting is wonderful!
the end symbolized spiritual perfection. It's when the soul gets to be one with the SOURCE and gets to take part in the unceasing quantum activity of the universe!! This is why we are here, to grow spiritually. :-)

This movie has one of my fav actors in it, Lance Henriksen. And is probably one of his best performances after Alien. Only found this movie two days ago and I don't regret it! It's one of the best movies I've seen.

Fiction, Oui.
La nature porte en elle tous miracles...De la naissance, à la mort de chaque êtres de ce monde. Homme, animaux, végétaux..............il n'y a qu'a s'attarder un peu plus sur les Arbres, ne (émoignent ils pas à eux seuls du défi qu'ils posent à l'apesanteur. Ne pas Croire en la vie dan sa Nature, c'est ne pas savoir La voir.
Powder, ce film je connais, je l'ai vu 4 fois . Grandiose, fictif et tout aussi profond.......Grandiose. !!

Actually if you watched the movid you'd know that Jeremy got nothing to do with God, at the end he became pure energy, those 4 folks got hit by the blast and experienced the energy thats why they behaved the way they did ;P
I wonder if something like that is possible, that a human can transcend, change the form ;O

We just have to wake up and realize it! Remember that Einstein's GR as well as quantum mechanics are just theories, they may be replaced any time by better theories. Well why won't you wake up then? You make it sound so easy. @Michkuty Don't get caught up with words, Divine can simply mean, one that is cause over matter, cause over effect. There is something in this universe that is causing this energy we call life to be, do, have. If you are alive you enjoy, pursue, crave this experience be it mouse, deer, human, dog.
Jung after thousands of hours of study and yrs of study of humanity, religion-(bind together) that our collective unconscious is the energy that is causing all these manifestations of consciousness.

@youmonkey36 Personally, being I just watched the movie on cable recently, Jeremy became pure energy so he could be anywhere. Or perhaps that his weakness which was electricity and he used it to free himself from his body. He said in the movie earlier that His grandparents believe in God and asked Lance Henriksens character if he believes in God.

He wanted to escape the sadness which he suffered through most of his life and the misery he had just experienced by interacting with the outside world. He decided it was best FOR HIM to just escape and use his vast knowledge and extraordinary capabilities to achieve what Einstein had theorized, he became E=mc(squared)...

I remember when the trailer was on tv for this, and everytime I saw it, I'd get creeped out because a) he's so damn PALE and b) the scene where lightning strikes him, and he gets lifted up. I was like "wtf kind of weirdass movie is this?? An albino guy lifted up in the air by electricity and a bolt coming out of his chest? ook..."
