@gonkerooney The guy you refer to was my uncle Rodney. He stood in for a band member who was taken ill. He said he was as nervous as hell, as he was an undertakers assistant from Derby. He toured with the group for the rest of theyear then left and joined Black Sabbeth.

A little trivia. The Tams had been # 1 for 3 weeks when TOTP finally got the go ahead to fly them over for an 'in studio' appearance.

Unfortunately the record dropped to # 2. The producer decided to include them anyway. Probably the first time a record going down the chart featured on the show.
