I know it's part of Stern's show but I find interviews with three hosts butting in all the time really really irritating. I also wonder whether they actually have to laugh that hard, it sounds so forced at times that it's embarrassing. Who the hell says "that's a good one" after a joke nowadays?

Mitch and Steven Wright are great executors of the dead-pan, unexpected punchline delivery. I wouldn't compare them as anything but peers (one isn't better or worse than the other, really). Their flavor of that general style is masterful enough that I don't see them ever intersecting or conflicting, since they are so vastly varied and intelligent. I would have loved to have Mitch and Steve meet up and collaborate. But, that would bring the Apocalypse, I think. (RIP Mitch!!)

If you have lost large amounts of time to your drug use then you are a drug abuser, the kind of person who is trying to block out life and who would be more likely to resort to any means to obtain drugs than a drug addict who is taking enough of the drug that they have become addicted to so that they can function in their day to day.

Con't Being a marijuana smoker, myself, who has only recently been granted a medical marijuana ticked, and who has dabled in other drugs, I have seen the culture my entire life, and I have met as many addicts with excellent jobs as I have sex workers who are forced into their trade, but they don't tell you kids about the functioning addicts in their hate your fellow man anti drugs propaganda.
My wife and I are educated, contributing members of society and both of us are addicts.
I was married to my wife at the time and was aware of the finances and what portion of them went out to pay her doctor's appointments and her prescriptions. If you had any understanding of addiction you would know that the best thing for an opiate addict to do financially is to find a doctor that will prescribe the drugs that they seek. If you were addicted to other substances you would also know that there are many things that one can do to fund their habit, including dealing.
My wife was an opiate addict for 12 years. Because her addiction was doctor supported she didn't have to hustle for drugs nor did they ruin her financially. In that time she traveled the world and attended university. She remembers every minute of it.
What's the deal, anyway? Are the "Just Say No" nazis using Mitch as their new poster boy for just saying no and that's why all of you ignorant kids with a myopic, insulated understanding of the world are checking out Mitch's videos?

@Adeptmind Poking fun in an interview is fine with me. But it got wayy too excessive to a point that it was more like using him as a punching bag. The putdowns were too frequent and it got to a point where it was sort of mean spirited and in bad taste. I didn't find it funny and I admire Mitch's composure while they were cackling at his misfortune. The "jokes" tapered off towards the end, but the interview still gave me an unpleasant feeling.

Sept. 9th 2004 . I saw him live. i will always remember that night . coming on stage with one glass full of vodka and the other glass half full of OJ . that made the show 110% better . he was on tour with Stephen Lynch at the time . another thought . i saw Paul McCartney , but this show with hedberg and lynch topped that . R.I.P Mitch. .I will always say i saw the best comedian ever in my life time.
I think that Mitch may have had depression ironically despite being a comic and he also may have been self medicating with all different drugs to aid in the control of the disorder ..I think that going on this show pushed him over the edge pressure wise at least that is what I gather listening to it ..I am not blaming any one ...just saying the honesty and bluntness of the people on the show may have irritated his drug and or mental problems ...unfortunate..:( he was awesome..

If you have lost large amounts of time to your drug use then you are a drug abuser, the kind of person who is trying to block out life and who would be more likely to resort to any means to obtain drugs than a drug addict who is taking enough of the drug that they have become addicted to so that they can function in their day to day.
Had you responded politely by saying "Hey dude, your barking up the wrong dog", I would have apologized in kind, but you didn't..

Con't Being a marijuana smoker, myself, who has only recently been granted a medical marijuana ticked, and who has dabled in other drugs, I have seen the culture my entire life, and I have met as many addicts with excellent jobs as I have sex workers who are forced into their trade, but they don't tell you kids about the functioning addicts in their hate your fellow man anti drugs propaganda.
My wife and I are educated, contributing members of society and both of us are addicts.

I was married to my wife at the time and was aware of the finances and what portion of them went out to pay her doctor's appointments and her prescriptions. If you had any understanding of addiction you would know that the best thing for an opiate addict to do financially is to find a doctor that will prescribe the drugs that they seek. If you were addicted to other substances you would also know that there are many things that one can do to fund their habit, including dealing.

My wife was an opiate addict for 12 years. Because her addiction was doctor supported she didn't have to hustle for drugs nor did they ruin her financially. In that time she traveled the world and attended university. She remembers every minute of it.
What's the deal, anyway? Are the "Just Say No" nazis using Mitch as their new poster boy for just saying no and that's why all of you ignorant kids with a myopic, insulated understanding of the world are checking out Mitch's videos?

@Adeptmind Poking fun in an interview is fine with me. But it got wayy too excessive to a point that it was more like using him as a punching bag. The putdowns were too frequent and it got to a point where it was sort of mean spirited and in bad taste. I didn't find it funny and I admire Mitch's composure while they were cackling at his misfortune. The "jokes" tapered off towards the end, but the interview still gave me an unpleasant feeling.

@iDislikeNames I don't know.. it's kind of an unspoken rule of comedians that you can poke fun at eachother and not take it to heart. And I didn't even hear anything that would be offensive.. unless he was making stuff up. When you are a public figure.. anything out in the public is fair game, and Howard has built a career on making fun of everything. Anyone who goes on his show knows it's part of the act and that's why he maintains his composure, because there was nothing to be upset about

Sometimes you gotta laugh stuff off and not be so serious.. sometimes people are going to be mean. That's life.. he pokes fun at everyone including himself (more than anyone else) and they are usually famous people with big ego's. He's just a great guy and he doesn't deserve that crap. And maybe people in life are going to be mean, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to stand for it if I can help it.

It's all characters they play.. it's all fair game when it comes to entertainment business. I personally don't think they meant anything maliciously, I think it's just a different type of humor. Sept. 9th 2004 . I saw him live. i will always remember that night . coming on stage with one glass full of vodka and the other glass half full of OJ . that made the show 110% better . he was on tour with Stephen Lynch at the time . another thought . i saw Paul McCartney , but this show with hedberg and lynch topped that . R.I.P Mitch. .I will always say i saw the best comedian ever in my life time.

I think that Mitch may have had depression ironically despite being a comic and he also may have been self medicating with all different drugs to aid in the control of the disorder ..I think that going on this show pushed him over the edge pressure wise at least that is what I gather listening to it ..I am not blaming any one ...just saying the honesty and bluntness of the people on the show may have irritated his drug and or mental problems ...unfortunate..:( he was awesome..

@sycksyngyrl I don't think that ironically is the word that ties depression and stand-up commedy. From what I've read and heard, depression has been the problem for many stand-up comedians, and so was the consumption of drugs.
