John Lodge (bassist) wrote both this song and "I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)". Considering both songs together, he seems to purvey the message that musicians should be more concerned with edifying and uplifting the audience's emotions than trying to force a divisive or controversial opinion. The Moodies sure have held to this through their career. A beautiful band and a beautiful song.
As much as I love you, Jesus loves you so much more. He is God. Pours out love, grace, kindness, friendship, forgiveness. Oh trust Him. Ask Him into your heart.
Justin(and Moodies) sing their minstrel songs which are always in short supply on earth. commercial success was never the priority and thank goodness. the music and lyrics rise above , are profound , uplift , teach (not preach) , etc.....i even like Justin as a roll model for me (my daughter Kirsten too). i am curious as to how he remains HUMBLE and grounded.
If these lyrics and melodies were adopted as the guiding principles to our lives...what a wonderful world it would be! "Everywhere love is all around"
@JohnMan59 Hi. am not going to give you any spam. All i will say is that the message of peace the feeling of peace has been available in the west for forty years now, if you ever feel like it drop me a line.Y wont get a lecture ever i will just pass you to the global peace site for you to make up your own mind.

the name of the swing/show choir that I was in, in high school was called the Mintrels. This was our opening song for each performance for many years. Great memories!
This has always been one of my favorite Moody songs. I would have loved to have heard it in concert this past Spring and Summer. Hopefully someday they will. Peace. Love, Jusfriend

The Moodies have to be one of the best bands. Their lyrics gave such hope, their music such beauty.

What ever happened to the ideals expressed in these songs? Society is morally inept. We could all learn from the messages displayed in these songs.
