he goes for the distortion pedal, right, and he turns it OFF...

lol nah. it's not that much of a clean tone. but he seems to have a chorus pedal on there. and really strike the guitar for that sharp rythmn sound.

his guitar is a gretsch there, which is perfect for cleans. although he mightve had very slight distortion being used there.

i love how Billy sang during this performance. it seemed like he had a lot more control over his voice, and it wasn't a..nasally? as it usually is. not saying that the studio version/earlier performances were bad. this is just a personal favorite of mine :D.
