@IAmJessiYellow13 I loved it the first time I played it, then I played the other three, which are much better. I absolutely hate the gameplay and the lack of humor in MI4. The first two games are hilarious but there are barely any good jokes in this one.

we will never know the real secret of monkey island, it has yet to be revealed. going to monkey island only shows the truth of other secrets and not it's own (ie: big whoop) the monkey robot essentially was always there, just the hellish voodoo powers used by le chuck in combination with it created a hell dimension underneath monkey island and the monkey statue became the entrance. the robot was built to counter another ultimate insult should one ever be made.

@nowitski2 I've only played part 1-3 and haven't yet had the chance to try this one out. So far, the series was incredible. But they say that part 4 is the weakest of the 5 parts.

I think that Tell Tale Game's Tales of Monkey Island was great and I would recommend it to all fans of monkey island.

No matter what graphics, Monkey Island is still awesome.

If you ask me, even Lucas Arts did one bad step in MI. That was in part 3 when they suddenly decided MI was to be a comic game... what ???? Geez ! MI 1 + 2 prolly were not completely non-comic but not that stupid-childish-comic-like. There should be far more to it than what it currently is. I thought MI was amazing until part 3. Part 2 actually was a part that didn't suffer the "boring sequel" phenomenon. They both were brilliant. 3 was ok, everything after that ... not to mention.

Vedurin: The first two parts were pretty "stupid-childish-comic-like" too I think, c'mon putting dogs in your pants?? Though what the third game did was to give it a cartoon look instead of the more realistic graphics of the first two games. I don't think they should have taken this step even though I enjoyed the third game a lot.

In this fourth game they made another mistake I think: making it 3D with HORRIBLE graphics.

Well, i actually meant the graphics of the first two parts. Some "acts" were really comic stylish =) like the dog ... or the gigantic banana collector ... but the nifty thing were the realistic graphics mixed with these comic elements. Something that pretty much sucked about Monkey 1: Special Edition. They put the good old graphics into five-minutes-photoshop-graphic­s and sold it as "cool". Well, after all what could you expect from a game that costs 10 Euro, but never pay more than 50 bucks ;)

<3 MI. until this monster was made. i played this MI a few hours but i just couldn't stand the graphics. "it's a MI game the graphics shouldn't matter, the story is great!" no. the graphics just are that f*ckin horrible. i think i'm never gonna play this game to the end..

IMO 2d is the way in the "pick up, use etc." adventure games. also the arrow key control is stupid. and a GIANT MONKEY ROBOT, GEEEZ ron gilbert come back and save the monkey island games...

tales of MI is ok. too easy maybe.

yep, they should do a game that rescues the series. First of all, it has to be point and click, second, have good humor, not like MI4, don't be so ridiculous... also, its a game about pirates, theres were no robots or towns that looked like "the smurfs" place. It also has to consider the fact that most of the fans are grown up, so, make it for teenagers at least, not kids

game has lots of plot holes with the herman story...and the head robot....when you went into the catacomes in MI1 you went down the monkeys skelton spine as a ladder and now thats all mechanical..it wasn't too bad but was the worst out of the 4...and monkey combat was crap...still would of liked to see a 5th one, i thought it had a beter chance with PiratesofTC bein out few years back but guess not

I disgaree. MI4 is definitely flawed because of the rather soulless 3D engine and animation employed as well as a marked decline in the quality of the humour, atmosphere and characterisation. However MI3 is a world class example of animation, dynamic sound and humour. Ron Gilbert's games may have had a touch more surrealness but MI3 still competes on that score and the puzzles are pitched at a good level- not too difficult.
