i got a question...do i sell an item for the same price in all shops and how do i sell it for full price? like i got a amulet that is worth 120 but when i sell it they offer 39 for it...
@TheBozola you are not charming enough :) To sell items close to their full price you have to have items with +% Item cost when sold/bought and your Speech has to be very high (or higher than you have right now).
On a personal note, don't worry about this, at some point you will drown in money, even if you don't have such items or don't invest in Speech.
@schustera1 in case of each mod it might be different, but generally you operate with Skyrim folder, specifically - Data. There you drop .esp's, .esm's and also folders such as textures, music, sound, etc.
Now, in order to install each mod, you should probably read the manual on the installation. I don't do it anymore, as I've installed hundreds upon hundreds of mods in Oblivion and about 50 in Skyrim. It comes with experience :)
I am not sure if it has been said or not, but i will give my try.
I believe you forgot to mention that the traders have limited money. This, in my eyes, renders stuff, such as food, useless to pick up. Yes, you do get a lot of money, especially from potions and jewellery, but you'll have trouble selling them (alchemist/mage or general store)
Also, high level armor is good to pick up, as you can enchant/improve. I can buy an ebony bow for ~1500. 1 ebony ingot + 1 soul gem and i end up in profit.
@k4l4suPP Just a continuation, as i had room. I have a remark. Picking up armor will become useful later in the game when you have a gear for everything (haggling/speech, smithing).
This comes from my experience. I am a level 66 character with around 300k gold and no idea what to spend it on. I only really pick stuff up, so i can train speech by selling.
PS: If you have a question about why i don't use speech perks, then i see them more of a convenience than a necessity.
@k4l4suPP I see your points, one of them I consider fair, however also exploitive.
1. Traders do have limited supply of gold, which resets in about a day after you visit them. However it does not diminish how it is more profitable to sell some items over others.
2. What you are suggesting is very much exploitive. So, instead of selling each individually you enchant your armor and then sell it to the merchant. This is very similar with opening your console and typing player.additem F "X".
@k4l4suPP What I'm trying to suggest here is how you can better accumulate your capital, without exploiting or even mildly cheating in Skyrim. Some players will sacrifice maximum efficiency because it's very close to exploiting, I'm one of them :D I don't want to barricade your point of view, as you are obviously not wrong, I just want to underline that in a single player game the quality of experience will heavily vary on you cheating/not cheating.
I do not consider maximizing the profit cheating. But it should not be overused, or the game will get boring.
However, that was not my point. My point was that you might end up running from city to city and spend hours selling stuff. So it should be kept in mind while looting, that you have to choose your loot so that you can get the most money in one run. And i'm sure you are aware of the fact that blacksmith shops have the most money :).
@k4l4suPP of course, good point. However, with the fast travel in Skyrim it's hardly difficult to go from one city to another. The concept you are talking about is more applicable in games such as Fallout and Fallout 2, where it was VERY important to wisely loot and decide what to take with you and what to leave behind.
@HostMikePushkin It is true that some games rely more on looting strategy than others. But every game (or RPG at least) needs a good looting strategy :).
The problem with fast travel is staring at loading screens. This is not what i play the game for :P.
All that aside, the video itself was great! What you are suggesting in the video, is perfect for beginners, who i believe, is your target group. :)
Yes, this is the best technic :) but i have still one problem on my paladin, i havent home and i have 4 dragon bones and 7 dragon scales :X.. in inventory, so, if i will give some items to chest in some dungeon, does will it delete after few time? Or it will be in chest forever
@oORoOFLOo If you put your items in any chest which is not in YOUR house what will happen 9 out of 10 times is they will disappear. Be very careful and buy a house instead :D
@HostMikePushkin ok i have bought one :D and next question is: I wanted make some video, just for me, but if i run fraps recording my game if drastically slower, really low fps. May i play on lower details? Have you this problem too?
@oORoOFLOo lower the FPS in FRAPS (make it 30 or 25 instead of 60 or 50). Also, cut resolution in FRAPS recording to 1/2, not 1:1. Then, if even this doesn't help, reduce the in-game resolution and graphical quality.
FRAPS is a very powerful program, but for some games your computer just won't be enough.
@oORoOFLOo - If you don't have a home, particularly on newer characters, go back to Helgen and look in the inn. There should be a dresser or chest or something in there (I can't remember right now). The chest won't respawn and it's safe for you to use as storage. I use it as a storage location until I can afford to buy the house in Winterhold.
I have extra stuff that I am not willing to part with. Is there a bank or something I can store extra armor, etc.?( for exampleI have a couple dragon priest masks that i will not use, but i know i want that for the side quest)
@coldblood333100 Housing. Easiest way to get a house is to go to Whiterun and complete several parts of the main quest (which is 20 minutes work) and to buy the house there. After that, buy bedroom furnishings and you'll have great storage chest.
@HostMikePushkin thanks, I just needed the chest that it came with. Also, is there a way to store the Elder Scroll, because it is 20 lbs or kilos or whatever(I assume it is kilos because I think it would be highly unlikely that someone could carry 400 or 500 lbs of stuff with them)
So when I turn on master difficulty and go through a dungeon and I have 7 ebony axes 3 ebony warhammers and 2 ebony bows and I have to drop one of them, I always dropped the axe. But idk if its a good idea.
@Slininstien the answer will lie in PPK/PPP. Check how much axe costs compared to other things and then you will be able to easily figure out what's least useful.
interesting though I thought this was a guide about how to "role play" a job like smithing and enchanting for a profit or hunting for a profit

@FlyingAce1016 you can also do that, but I felt that hard labour is not what most of the people would love to do to enjoy an RPG game :D

go here and exploit the game
