Thanks for this tutorial, PHP did not work at first but used howtogeek [DOT] com/50432/how-to-install-php-on-iis-7-for-windows-server-2008/ I had to configure some things for PHP to work.
How do i connect more then 1 website to my server IP adress when there is no file i can find to enter the dam domains to transfer to the domain folders in XAMPp i use a file in Apache
whole day I was searching solution and tried them all, none worked. php could not connect to MySql. then I viewed this video and used web platform installer, typed php in webplatform installer search, installed 5.2 php and all worked. THANKS!
Still working through the actual install, but thanks for the video. Only issues I had was that your voice is really low and your mouse clicks are REALLY loud!
I'm using the exact same setup as you and I'm not able to get my phpinfo to show the mysql is connected.... any suggestions... I have my php.ini copied in my windows... I see the php_mysql.dll in the ext folder I have the libmysql.dll copied in the window\systems32 folder
I"m using php 5.2.4 and mysql 5.0.45, iis7 wed server running on window server 2008
Hi, i follow this and when i get to the log in page, i enter my details and then the page just hangs and i get a error message #2002 cannot connect to the mysql server.
@randystech I have the same issue. I have set the MySQL password during the installation of MySQL. When you filled in 'root' and your password in the phpMyAdmin login screen, you get a white page and then after a while you get the #2002 error message. Don't know what this is.. I can login in the MySQL Command Line Client.
@nnngggiii If that is the case you need to edit the php.ini file in the root directory of the php install. Add this to the end of the file.:
[PHP_MYSQL]
extension=php_mysql.dll
however by default it should be there. Also check the extensions directory. It should be in the same place except a folder named "ext" then make sure you have the php_mysql.dll file in that folder.
Thanks for this tutorial- the link for MySQL in the description doesnt give you download mirrors anymore as it has been updated but other than that, everything worked exactly as shown in your video

Hi randystech. I've followed your video. Everything worked as expected. Even though I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2 and the newest MySQL 5.5.
Thanks. Excellent video.
