  • Hi, i follow this and when i get to the log in page, i enter my details and then the page just hangs and i get a error message #2002 cannot connect to the mysql server.

    do you have any suggestions?

  • @jasonkate1 did you set the mysql password?

  • @randystech I have the same issue. I have set the MySQL password during the installation of MySQL. When you filled in 'root' and your password in the phpMyAdmin login screen, you get a white page and then after a while you get the #2002 error message. Don't know what this is.. I can login in the MySQL Command Line Client.

  • im using windows 2003 server..i follow you instc. but i get this

    Cannot load mysql extension. Please check your PHP configuration. - Documentation

  • @nnngggiii If that is the case you need to edit the php.ini file in the root directory of the php install. Add this to the end of the file.:

    [PHP_MYSQL]

    extension=php_mysql.dll

    however by default it should be there. Also check the extensions directory. It should be in the same place except a folder named "ext" then make sure you have the php_mysql.dll file in that folder.

  • Thanks for this tutorial- the link for MySQL in the description doesnt give you download mirrors anymore as it has been updated but other than that, everything worked exactly as shown in your video

  • Thanks I have updated the MySQL link now.

  • Thanks really helped me get up and running in optimal time.
