  • wheres the rest of the video

  • 1:33 Hahaha department store "Smells Like Teen Spirit"....Funny..

  • The reason why gangsta fashion has been mainstream 4 so long is that the true gangs never opted out, once they do it won't be popular

  • I just LOVE it when rich people obsessed with fashion trends take on a style of dress pioneered by poor people who can't afford to give a shit about what they wear or are completely anti-fashion and call it "bohemian"... See the irony there? Because that flannel shirt Kate Moss is wearing was $1000.

  • 1:19 0.o the guys got cheetos up his nose......

  • @Japaneseshibainu it's a grunge fashion statement, obv :L

  • @dolly32112 obv you don't get that I'm joking :L

  • @Japaneseshibainu i do, i was joking -.- they're clearly not cheetos and even if they were it wouldn't be a fashion statement...

  • @Japaneseshibainu ear plugs

  • @VictorC53 true!

  • I shopped at thrift stores before they were cool. However, it's getting to the point where I don't want too anymore as they've all raised their prices. I remember when you could get a pair of jeans for like 25cents and now it's $25. F that .

I miss the 90s and I miss my old clothes. LOL

  • i shop at value village, its a canadian good will store, i get patterned sweaters and button ups for under 10$ each, grunge and hippie styles are completely out of fashion. these days teenagers are so trendy, wearing designer clothes and everything labeled. personally, im starting to wonder if society will ever experience another counter culture like the 60's or the 90's. i would do anything to be a teenager in the 90's, im so disgusted with my current generation.

    anyways god bless, pce&love

  • I literally hit my face against my desk at 1:32 T_T

  • @nflplayer200 the song is clearly a joke, showing the commercilisation of grunge

  • Grunge started out as a Fuck you attitude. I personally believe that grunge can't be put into fashion...No fucking way

  • i hate that shit i always wear flannels but now in my school people wear them cause its cool and they tell me shit cause im suposeibly being in a trend and im like i always wear this cause its comfortable if anything you bastards are the ones that are into a trend

  • AHHH wheres the rest of this? I want to see more!

  • this is what killed grunge, grunge is not a label, grunge is where u say "u know what, fuck you, i dont give a shit if i look good, ill were MY clothes so i dont become a clone like everyone else in the world" and since its been labeled as a fashion style, its just totally ruined REAL grunge, i think i just died alittle inside

  • @simmyguitarman quit being a baby...it has gone down in recent years so you can be happy again...we all can...to be honest with you i still where my flannel shirt, ripped jeans, and pearl jam shirts everyday...the funny thing is people look at me weird because of my "style" and it makes me feel good...grunge is underground again

  • My heart belongs to the 90s :)

  • 1:30 its the melody for Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. like the solo

  • I don't even buy 20$ shirts anymore I'm happy with screwed up cheap wal mart pants and goodwill shirts

  • the whole point of all that crap was that it was cheap. back in the late 80's ud buy a flannel shirt 4 a buck but once it became the fashion it was 40$ a shirt. so stupid

  • peoples idiocracy amazes me.....who pays hundreds for a shirt that can be bought for 5 dollars

  • wow, I thought i was the only grunger in the olde world.... hahaha- since we're talking about sell-outs- I kind of feel like a sell-out while watching this. Milk the machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lmao thatz what i love about grunge we dont go main stream it comes to us you wana be grunge flannel wearing idiots take off you flannels and go tell your mama to slap you for being so stupid. Grunge Rockz!

  • i love it! i am so glad when Wall street tried to cash in on so called grunge! people like her played these assholes like a fiddle! and by the way rock and rolls last hoo rah was the Seattle bands of the early 90s! they where great. and in 2010 there really is no rock and roll any more just a hand full of bands who play some good music!

  • @tommyfuller103 but once again i think history is repeating itself. in the 80s everything was so electroinic and fake, and in 91 it went straight back to 3 guys with guitars. now, everythings hip hop or pop bands trying to pass as punk, but some band will come along soon and put everything back to the way it was... i hope..

  • does we wear socks?

    *burp*

  • haha smells like teen spirit in pop..

  • i thought grunge wasnt ment to be a fashion? its ment to be an "effortless" attemp to dress. its kinda mad how the big companys soak up everything and try to sell it back to us and make money from it. pritty mad. i have a check-shirt, and i love pearl jam, but i dont think i have "grunge wear" or what ever the hell that is?

  • Calling it "fashion" is an excuse to dress lazily, listen to whatever kind of music you want and have a reason for it. It's the most grunge thing of all.

  • What the fuck is "Grunge-wear"?

It's just comfortabe clothing, and like SeanGoatboy said, it's just what the majority of working class America wear . .

It's cold there, and it's fucking cold in England too.

If this is believed to be otherwise, then I'm a dedicated follower of fashion.

    Cunts.

  • Who was the Time's columnist?

  • unfortunately everything is marketed as fashion. look what happened to punk. no scene is safe from the eyes of media and marketers.

  • the funny thing was the NYTs reporting they find a story line and stick to it even if its not the truth

  • I could up all that stuff from goodwill for under $20.

  • OMG the style that never was. Props to the generation that spit in pop demography's face.

  • brain ^^

  • 1:32 is the solo for smells like teen spirit

  • god the malls back then we're freaky.

did u hear that weird store music

  • grunge wear is so cool

  • i wear grunge clothes cause their cheap. it kinda happened by accident, i live in the pacific northwest and shop thrift alot and i ended up with a style that others called grunge

  • Hell is this all that grunge meant a fashion trend i mean come on i wear old jeans and flannel tshirts becuse im saving up for a new guitar ,not becuse i wanna folow the posers who sell mainstream

  • the 90's was such an awesum time in da world

  • who the fuck gave ganado12 a thumbs down?

  • @ganado12 yea it was... specially the economy booming. Great loans, businesses thought to go ahead with new ideas and not be afraid to try anything. As of Grunge I still have my HOW ARE YOU? t-shirt from the 90s :) RIP KURT COBAIN!

  • @ganado12 So fucking right bro. When I was in college in the early 90s grunge wear was what I wore long before it became a fashion. I miss Kurt, Layne and Andy and I can't help but look back and see how good life was back before Iphones and shit. Life was simple and meaning was every thing.

  • It's 2009 if there are actually people still subsiding to the "grunge fashion" it would be very hard to call them posers. You could really only call them idiots. Grunge was a ridiculous word for a fantastic music scene. Too bad the media fucked it all up.

  • Amen, bro

  • too bad Bush fucked it up also

  • @inutero10 The media fucks up EVERYTHING. Now, emo = goth? emo = punk? anti-fashion = fashion? Okay. The media twists everything. At least there are still some people that aren't brain dead that know the fucking difference between reality and "what they want you to think".

  • Unfortunately grunge was replaced by "Alternative" rock, but all people that knows what "grunge" means, knows that GRUNGE IS NOT DEAD!!!! And all the shit that is sold with the tag "grunge" is just garbage!

  • I really love 90s culture

  • God, people are so lame!

  • yeah really man. grunge is just a way of life with less emphesis on effort.

  • Now I get why Cobain was so depressed, fuck fashion

  • grunge is music, not modelling.

  • i really freakin miss the 90s, honestly.

  • Same here dude. The 90's seemed so fucking real. It back to bull shit all over again. Some one take me back to 91.

  • wtf is this?

grunge is suposed to be anti fash...

my god that word is so gay i can't even type it again.

  • Whats fucked up is that the movement was about being your self and not being a phony asshole. Hell I wore flannel because it was cheap also. All of a sudden you see all of rich ass phonies wearing the clothes to seem like they were all about grunge. Kurt was telling us that when he wrote In Bloom, a lot of assholes missed the point. The minute it was over they got rid of their flannels. Hell I still have mine and they stil look good. It just goes to show the world is as phony as a 3dollar bill.

  • did you hear the muzak version of it...wtf is up with these people?

  • anyone know whats the name of the song that starts around 0:34?

btw that crappy version of smells like teen spirit made me sick to my stomach!

  • Grunge is not a style... the people in Seattle did not give a fuck. It got cold, and flannel was cheap.

  • Grunge was more about not caring instead of "fashion" and that kind of shit but then a whole bunch of fucking marketers had to make it such a trend, losing the whole meaning of grunge in the first place

  • wtf? I still wear flannel that's cuz it's comfy and well cold in Portland, or.

  • It's fucking hilarious how mainstream america took their fashion cues from blue collared/working class America....especially how so closely it resembles to REDNECKS. Long johns, flannels, ripped jeans, bandannas, work boots, chain wallets..you took your fashion from people who don't have a lot of fucking money and wear this because it's cold.

The irony. Oh well...I still sport the 'grunge' look and not to look cool its because I live in the south and we've ALWAYS looked like that.

  • I fucking hate posers so much

these rich assholes who wear shitty clothes

we wear shitty clothes because we either cant afford it, or its just comfortable!

Ill wear pajamas before I wear a damn suit any day!

  • I hate the way people are trying to pull this "grunge=the new prep" bullshit now. Grunge fashion was never supposed to be marketed towards a bunch of rich newport brats.

  • I absolutely agree.

  • AWSOME statement chan25!

  • Grunge music was never supposed to be marketed, period.

  • Was it ever a fashion?

  • I really wasn't meant to be until those "fashionista" bimbos decided to have their fancy modols tread their runways with it. What a mock...

  • *models

  • Classic film. Megan Jasper rules. It still disturbes the hell out of me to hear "Teen Spirit" as elevator music...

  • tanta camisa de flanela e eu aqui atras de uma e não acho... rs

  • I think You don't need flannel shirts to be grungy. That's a lot more

  • 'i spit on you!' that kid's awesome.

  • Funny thing, in Northhampton Mass, the flannel look was called "Prol" short for proletariat. It meant you worked, and you didn't sell out and blah... When the Sub Pop guy came to NoHo and tried to sign Dinosaur Jr. Jay said "no" But he did sign Megan... She went back with him and "Grunge" was sort of born... She is kind of the mother... Proll was the original anti-establishment thing though, and in Northampton... It really was... in a hilariously bohemian way that is...

  • my style is "based" on grunge fashion... i use t-shirts (like nikes, adidas, every kind of it...) and shirts (like lacoste etc...) above. the fact is that i love grunge and i'm a big nirvana fan!

  • Lame. my grandma gave me flannel shirts, and believe me, they were never cool.

  • It gets cold in other places too. Hmm Here in New England it gets pretty chilly. So thanks for the flannel.

  • Every counter culture has a scene or fashion. Get over it. Your nothing special I liked Grunge & Alt music.

  • You're NOT your

  • the kid from 1:17 is a fag

  • No, you're just a typical kid these days who only knows the words "fag" and "gay" and "retard"...

    Grow up kid!

  • shut the fuck up you stupid twat if i cared about your opinion i would have asked. go outside

  • at the end the fucked up a song by nirvana!

    those stupid mf's!!!

  • Why can't you spell right?

  • "GRUNGE" like the word "PUNK" is only a word. its a term created by the press. it was capitilized on by fucking everyone.

  • Megan Jasper is hot. :)

  • this is from hype.

  • I love this woman. Taught the media a lesson.

  • so sad guys so sad...

  • FashioN sHitt...FaShioN reallY suCks

  • Commercialising grunge and its 'looks' is selling it out and is really sad...really fucking sad.

  • Did i hear correct? Is that kid telling me not to wear my PJ t-shirt? What is he, Hitler?

  • no

hes telling u that those dipshit posers only knew about pearl jam and nirvana.

  • If you take your ear plugs out of your ears and put them up you nose then you might hear him better. Dude have you ever seen a guy more punchable?

  • i've always wanted to know what was up that kids nose

  • He enjoys the smell of carrot

  • earplugs dude!!! lol!

  • rock and all forms of it are coming to an end

  • Ur right its being replaced by fucking rap, (retards attempting poetry). Its so fucking simple, a 6 year old could write the average crap song.

  • its rythm and poetry. ps mainstream rap isnt really rap
