  • The sound and vision of corporate greed.Horendous rape of wild land.Do you have these things in Yellowstone?

  • @Themyarhills -- I agree with you. This is all about greed and money and NOTHING about clean energy.

  • this is hysterical...these turbine motors broke years ago and these produce ZERO energy and just are a hazard to any bird in the area if they aren't already dead. It is trash just littering the countryside!!!! Nice example.

These also aren't the newer 500 ft turbines...type in vinalhaven and see how the locals love'm...NOT. Thin a low frequency that you can't really hear that is like seasickness 24 hours a day....do you know what causes sea sickness...building these near people is criminal!

  • Get this concept through your skulls people: THE SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS! Entropy. It guarantees that the future human population will NOT be able - no matter what technology is used - to live at the same level of comfort and convenience that Americans have been used to after WWII due to the one-time lottery ticket of oil. The BEST that we can do is to generate electricity with MINIMAL external disorder. That means wind and solar only! (maybe some geothermal). No nuclear, gas fracking,

  • @mphello .. or coal. The external costs of nuclear, gas fracking (poisoning people's water supplies), and coal (climate change) totally BLAST AWAY any of your imagined non-existent coal-industry/conservative-ideology-funded complaints against wind and solar power. Entropy guarantees it.

  • what happens when we install billions of these in the future? each one takes energy from the wind to turn. could we see the end of wind? a few cars aren't enough to hurt the enviroment, but, billions of them running and we know what happens.

  • Love IT!!! California needs to invest more in Green Tech!!! Prop 23 is down in the polls, but the Yes on 23 campaign just got a new influx of hot, anonymous cash, so we'll need to fend them off in the home stretch to Election Day.

Hit me back if you'd like to talk Prop 23. We're coming out with a bunch of great No on Prop 23 videos soon!

  • What an eyesore...

  • Well the wind on the mic seems to make more noise!

  • wonder how many turbines in a square mile?

  • wow that's a lot of turbines there isn't it. I have a rooftop system in Lodi CA not far from there.

  • well they are proposing to put 14 next to our village! help!

  • these are far from the answer

  • Nice video. Check out my videos about Home Wind and Solar system intalling on the Rooftop.

  • high noise

  • Well, since EVERY installed Watt on windenergy must have a back-up (coal- gas- or nuclear power) you can never close 1 power station by installing wind turbines. When wind blows and turbines are finally producing energie, conventional powerplants have to bring down their delivered power, with dramatical cosequenses fot their thermic efficiency/yield. Keeping them standby till the moment the wind decreases also takes energy, giving CO2-emissions. Per saldo the profit of the turbines is nihil

  • 0.09 turban blades?

  • According to the Department of Energy (DOE) 40% of all energy used in the US, be it from oil, gas, wind, solar etc is converted into electricity. Wind turbines are becoming common around the world as they help to generate electricity. Pacific Crest Transformers offers custom-built energy efficient transformers for wind farms. • if they are built in China they should all be pulled down and destroyed!

    BRING JOBS BACK TO AMERICA!

    KILL THE CORPORATE WELFARE QUEENS

    CRUSH THE CORPORATE MONOPOLIES

Americans are too stupid to realize the Corporate Monopolies have hijacked their Country, Government, Courts, Military, Media and are selling America 1 piece at a time!

They are selling your jobs to the highest bidders.

CORPORATIONS have no country, no honor, no patriotism, and no soul!

  • the vast majority of American mounted turbines are mostly made here.

They sort of have to be because they're so huge, they need to be assembled semi-locally. Raw materials, the aluminum and/or plastic might come offshore, but as far as I know, the serious wind farm jobs are still here. Don't fret yet.

  • @ johnb300m

$2 Billion Wind Turbine Order Is Largest Ever

"Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens...ordered 667 wind turbines from GE..."

"The $2 billion order is just one quarter of the total amount he plans to purchase. ..."

"I doubt" the US would be importing and bringing "2000 plus" wind turbines by cargo.

But Im not well informed about this subject so I will no certify anything. Although. Im surely in agreement with your comment.

  • @shroomduke it all depends on the corporation. the last management team at our company were a bunch of "send it to china" freaks. Our current management team now wants to "make it here first if we can." It's a BIG difference and we've actually been hiring a few people back to our US factories.

  • it wouldnt be so windy if they'd shut off those fans

  • u dont shut them off LOL

  • @ JunkMaster83

    LOL.

  • We should have such setups here in Australia.. There is so much vacant land that would be viable to house such a wind farm as this, its hard to see why they haven't adopted it already.

  • This looks like a great wind farm.

  • Seems like the wind is louder than hundreds of turbines. Old ones too.

  • LOLOLLLLL.... "TUR-BIN" BLADES

  • These seem to be closer together and smaller than the ones I'm used to. In that case, they might be louder if you are standing among them since you are able to hear more than one at a time. But I don't notice any houses in the video...so even if they were more noisy, it wouldn't matter.

  • power stations give off waste these things look awesome and they can give off loads of power you can get these things that give off up to 6mw of energy each just one of those is enough to power about 5000 homes

  • I hear a funky blade noise. I don't honestly think a wind farm of that age depth (some are 30 years old) and size would be seen near a town, plus those shorter older turbines are far noisier because of their gearing rather than the blade noise some can make at higher wind speeds. I hear they are upgrading the entire swath of older turbines with new ones, that'll be nice. More power, no noise, and a lot less cluttered looking!

  • those are really small windmills lol. the ones we have here in new zealand are like 100m tall

  • They're old. We have the huge ones in America too.

  • California has some of the oldest commercial wind turbines in the U.S. because that's where the U.S. wind industry started. Most of the older wind farms are repowering with modern wind turbines, but the process is slow because the demand for new wind turbines is much greater than supply. The main vendors have multi-year order backlogs now.

  • I think its awesome that they've put these in.

Wind is renewable, doesn't emit greenhouse gases, and doesn't have totally catastrophic results after an accident.

Much better then nuclear efing power.

    =)

  • These are beautiful!

  • ruin Southern California? when was the last time you went running around in tehachapi's "no mans land"? go play in a puddle of oil.

  • and poullution is better?

Both nuclear and wind turbines are safer then continuing to give billions to the middle east, think about it.

  • After re-reading what I wrote I can see where it looks like I thought that coal comes from the middle east. The U.S. has more coal then anyone. I just hate to see any money going to countries that hate the U.S.

I agree that nuclear is the way to go.

  • those turbines are MHI 250's (250kw generators).

  • what is the power of each wind turbine?

Do you know exactly how many turbines are in this wind farm?

    Thanx

  • No idea, but there are at least a several hundred possibly thousands.

  • Google for: world wind power database, go there, then type: tehachapi in the search form. That will give the detailed list of Tehachapi's wind turbines. There are several different power companies with many turbine types in this area. Sorry, YouTube comments won't let me give the link.

  • these wind mills coud change the spin of the earth. this is 1 place in the whole world. so there are many more places where these windmills are. Coud they turn the earth ???

  • Good question but no.

  • @GReddy1987 <morbo> WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY! </morbo>

  • @GReddy1987 $#!* We better shut them all off.

  • yeah lol stop the fucking wind! I nearly can't hear the windmills ;-)

  • lol the wind is like 5436593642x louder
