how many of these knuckeheads voted for Obama........dummies, you get more war, more and more of war......go home and do some gardening for your peace of mind
Point #1 - I agree that Tina Richards should not have been arrested for exercising her rights to free speech. But, there is a right way and a wrong way to go about it.
Point #2 - Did she write letters to her representatives and the Speaker of the House expressing her views on the war and her concerns for her son?
Point #3 - Whatever your views are about these issues, please write letters to your representatives on the Hill and send petitions - over and over.
We have a volunteer military. Please ask you cowardly children who fear fighting to leave the military. As a military mom, you disgrace the brave men and women who knew what was involved when they willingly signed up.
Unfortunately, you can't exercise your First Amendment Rights on private property. Civil disobedience is still disobedience. She was clearly breaking the law. Disturbing the peace is a crime generally defined as the unsettling of proper order in a public space through one's actions. This can include creating loud noise by fighting or challenging to fight, disturbing others by loud and unreasonable noise, or using offensive words or insults likely to incite violence. She just had to be peaceful..
I guess if a police officer becomes disabled due to some thug shooting him we should go ahead and protest the police department. Doesn't make sense? Why would you go and protest something that your son volunteered for. This is what his job required of him. He along with many other professionals place their lives on the line everyday.
How does her adult son feel about her behavior and how it reflects on him, and on his country. Code Pink reserves rights they will not extend to those who disagree with them.
Who cares how her son feels? SHE is expressing her feelings about the occupation of Iraq. And BTW, her son came home from Iraq severely damaged for the rest of his life. Maybe that's why she feels so strongly about this. I kinda think her son agrees with her, since he isn't getting the medical care he needs.

Maybe that's why she feels so strongly about this. I kinda think her son agrees with her, since he isn't getting the medical care he needs.
I care about how her son feels, and she should too. Cindy Sheehan has made herself famous by disregarding and exploiting her son. As a mother I find that self-centered and repulsive.
If her protest was to facilitate care for wounded Iraq vets I'd feel better about that, too. That would be respectful of her concern for her son.
The constitution doesn't promise to expedite communication that disrupts the business of the government - it promises that the consequenses of free speech will not be horrific. Compare what you see here to the 80 dead Tibet protesters in the past few days.... they complained about the (Chinese) government curbing their speech, too.
Part 2, But don't despair WWIII is just around the corner. We are going to protect Israel from Iran. Instead of Iran wiping Israel off the face of the Earth. The Bush regime plans to wipe out Iran like it wiped out Iraq, this will lead to WWIII.
Part 1, Welcome to the New World Order with United States Police. Polosi is a traitor to her party. She said no to Impeachment, and has said yes to war. This country has been hijacked by prostitutes and corporate s-bags. Money is all that matters to them. The Israel lobby has America tied in a knot. We now fight her wars and get higher gas prices.
The responsible party here is the complaintant and the police cheif who authorized the arrest. The cops are complicit for doing their jobs really. I don't know what happened after the arrest but as far as I am concerned Pelosi should have personally protested for weeks following this.
it's called "Disturbing the Peace" they told the protesters they can protest outside. By taking it inside the building you are no longer peacefully protesting, it has moved into "Disturbing the Peace". May be lame, but it is arrest worthy. Sorry folks, first amendment is still around, it just cant be abused.
Let me see, we the people paid for that building, we pay to maintain it and we pay the people who work in this building. But we the people aren't allowed to be inside? It figures.
I miss the 1st amendment. RIP you will be missed. Also, RIP 14th amendment due process- you will also be missed. Habeas Corpus we will Never Forget You.
All bad jokes aside, Actually, I think Hillary is going to win. But either way, left or right, I am pretty sure all the top politicians have been horribly corrupted.
Democrats and other whiners disgust me. I disagree with them in Soo many ways. But that was disgusting. To arrest a woman for speaking out is a horrible violation of civil rights. Disgusting display of despotism. Polosi needs to be arrested herself.
does anyone still wonder, or care, about the worst monster in our lifetime, that mass murderer and mastermind,,,,,BIN LADEN????!!! is it just a little suspicious that no govt. official even mentions the name anymore...
Check out Megadeth "Symphony of Destruction" and Ministry "Lies, Lies, Lies" and NOFX "Franco UnAMerican" on Youtube. Also Alex Jones and Aaron Russo.
What is happening in Iraq is that our troops are committing attrocities against the Iraqi people every day because they are not being given the training to survive psychologically. Playing soccer with decapitated heads of innocent civilians that are slaughtered because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
We will never recover from this because we KNEW BETTER when we sent these sons and daughters in... we are complicit by our silence. SHAME ON BUSH and PELOSI! SHAME!
whenever an american uses their constitutional rights to protest a govt. action they view as un-constitutional or just plain wrong, they are called "terrorists" or worse. is the fight for the last drops of oil worth our youth's lives....?? this is what's it's about. face it. no bin laden.... and all the questions about 9/11...... hmmmmm
god bless her,,,,,i'd be doing the same thing if my loved one was forever harmed or killed by ones sending them into the firing lines with no threat to them. follow the money trail,,,,my loved ones should not die for this...
please remember, no major change in this country has ever taken place before people have taken to the streets. "civil disobediance" was the start to EVERY major change in our countries history,,,labor laws, womens right to vote, child labor laws, vietnam war, etc......
wow i give respect to the marine but i bet that he is not only not proud of his mom but disappointed. not funding the war is the same as not funding the troops. her sons brothers in arms could be affected by her actions...
Start thinking of it as the "Battle" of Iraq, not the "War". This is just one battle in a wider war against terrorism. All wars have battles that must be abandoned, and a good general knows when to fold 'em and focus on something else. Spending money on renewable energy, a "Marshall Plan" for the region and better oversight of both the military and the intelligence community would be a lot more useful than continuing to shed blood in Iraq.
Mom is being used by Kevin Zeese the Watermelon, that is, Green on the outside (Green Party) and Red (communist) on the inside. Zeese only pretends to have respect for the military because he knows the Americans he's trying to fool respect the troops. On March 17th Medea went around with a display that called our troops baby killers.
my son understands that this money prolongs the war. Without it, they will have to slow down on Forward Combat Operations. For four years Bush got every penny he wanted and my son was sent to war using particle board for his truck, I had to buy his combat boots, improper equipment, etc. The troops are short changed because Bush doesn't care about the individual soldier or Marine. Do not buy into the Republican talking points that supporting funds for the war is supporting the troops.
Not funding the war is NOT the same as "not funding the troops." You've been watching too much Fox News.
When Congress cuts off funds for a war, they fund the withdrawl process and ensure that the military has all of the resources it needs to accomplish. We've done it before.
I wish that the support staff in this and the AEI action did not have to bear the brunt of this action. What I saw was a guy verbally pummeling a Capitol Police officer who was just doing his job and conducting himself with dignity. Both the male and female officer showed a lot of restraint and appeared to be treating Tina Richards with care. I wish that guy had just stayed in the hallway putting pressure where it counts.
I was on board with this until the part where it moved outside and that one guy kept screaming at the Capitol Police, who conducted themselves with complete dignity and care for Tina Richards. I wish CodePink had just stayed in the hallway yelling at the speaker instead of harassing the Capitol Police, who were just doing their jobs. It's a shame that the cops and support staff of these people have to take the heat of these actions. At least Hillary had the guts to meet face-to-face.

PS- she'd have a better point if her son was drafted instead of joining a volunteer army and choosing to take the oath.
