  • I remember Rosemary Clooney in my early childhood.I watched What's My Line a lot.I knew that laugh would give her away.

  • Rosie was so great -- a lovely woman, and what a voice!

  • what does arlene say at 2:00?

  • @Thorneycroft1937 "Are you by any chance married to Toulouse-Lautrec?" But what she meant was another matter (?)

  • @animatetime Rosemary's husband José Ferrer played Toulouse-Lautrec in 'Moulin Rouge' ;)

  • Oh she looked gorgeous. I'm just discovering her music...I would love for that hairstyle to come back.

  • Why can't we have more singers like her nowadays?

  • Its george clooney's aunt

  • Is this George's mom?

  • NIce smile, projected warmth and sincerity.

  • Rosie was wonderful! I love how her voice cracks after Arlene asks her if she's married to Trick. Haha! I wish she had done more WML episodes! Such a delightful lady to watch! Thank you!

  • Dorothy Kilgallen was murdered.

  • George Clooney's aunt!

  • I love the way she says "yes".

  • Nice body back then. Soon to become a multi-unit condominium.

  • @62easthar62 She was always very HOT & SEXY!

  • you can totally see George in her, that face is unforgettable

  • I had a crush on her when I saw her in White Christmas.

  • Oh Rosie <3 always a class act :)

  • I came here as an antidote to Lady Gaga. A real singer.

  • What a great laugh she's got!!

  • George Clooney's one lucky man to have had an aunt like Rosemary.

  • Well... I just fell in love with Rosemary Clooney watching this. What a lady, I am so impressed

  • im in love QQ

  • If you want to know what real singing is listen to her records !

  • thats funny....had she not laughed......they never would have guessed

  • I'd never seen pictures of her before from this time. Her son (Miguel Ferrer) looks a lot like her.

  • I like how advertisement was there, but it was subtle. it wasn't all LOUD AND BUY ME.

  • @rickardo004 Well it isn't subtle, but it doesn't try to be. Which, in a way, makes it less distracting. If you want to know who is sponsoring the TV show you know where to look.

  • She gained a lot of weight as a result of taking slimming pills after she had babies, at the behest of her husband Jose Ferrer

  • Would someone mind telling me who "taluso Trick" is @ 2:03?

  • she looks so good just TWO months after having a baby! and i know, her voice is so unique as well as her laugh! i love watching this vid :) thanks for putting it up!

  • 50s ARE MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shes sooooo amazing!!!!!!!!

  • Mambo Italiano!!! woohoo!!!

  • Hey Barbra Streisand turned 13 the day this aired.Wonderful!

  • She was a delight and a truly great artist.

One of the only Saturday Night Live skits I ever resented was John Belushi's take-off of her Coronet paper towel advertisements.

  • Gotta love the 1950's

  • she. i... BEAUTIFULLL

  • i love her voice and her smile! so sweet!

  • So beautiful and charming,I adore this woman.

  • I laugh Kentucky, don't I?!

  • Haha I love it when she laughed!! Love her

  • I thought the same thing when she laughed. I thought "How can you not know it's her". She was AMAZING. Her nephew said it best...she didn't sing; she opened her mouth and served you a song. In a crowd of hundreds it somehow felt that song was being sung just for you as some sort of special message. I say it again - amazing.

  • She so beautiful...^^

  • There was just no disguising that beautiful voice.

  • Truely a remarable lady and a talented singer to boot! Ms Clooney had grace, dignity, style, and knew how to move her audience. "White Christmas" is still my fav movie!!!!! Ms Clooney is sadly missed. She was dubbed, "The Lady with the Golden Voice!."

  • That baby she's talking about - that has to be Miguel Ferrar! That's so sweet.

  • i am a 13 year old boy and actually am the son of the baby she was talking about... she was my grandmother and i remember the sadness i felt when my dad told me the news when i was five during my first trip to hawaii... I cant describe how much i miss her.

  • You must be Rafael :)

  • Thats me :), and my 16 year old brother Lukas

  • Congratulations to you for having such a beautiful and talented woman in your family. Your father is a wonderful actor too! (One of my personal favorites).

  • Is Miguel still "an angel"?

    (Rosie surely is.)

  • hahaha well, mainly he is, but he has his devilish moments, no doubt.

  • one beautiful kentucky women....no woner george is handsome

  • She actually wasn't George Clooney's mother. She was his aunt. Her brother Nick was George's father. Nick is still alive with a very accomplished journalism background. He tried to run for Congress in 2004 but was defeated and returned to writing for the Cinci Enquirer.

  • They didn't sign their names on paper; they signed on a blackboard. So those signatures have all long since ceased to exist. Which is too bad! Because that WOULD have been a great collection that could never have been duplicated.

  • Chalk on black paper. A slew of the signatures appeared on eBay a year or so ago.

  • i wonder where they kept all of the papers where they signed it. thoses things would be worth millions now.

  • That was a real, talented lady...

  • I fell in love with her when I saw White Christmas. Too bad she went through some psychological problems in her life.

  • I think some of her wt gain may have been contributed to by medication. She did go through some very rough times i've read.

  • she's pretty cute and funny : )

  • I love the dress she wore in white christmas (last part)

  • What did Cerf call her at 1:30?

  • a chantootsie...a singer of sorts.

  • She was a lady. Very sweet woman. There aren't any left like her.

  • Looks older than 26. Maybe fudged

    her birth date?

  • Rosie could sing ANY song, was beautiful, a great mother and wonderful person. She referred to herself simply as "a girl silger", but she was so much more. She fought tremendous battles with bipolar disease and addiction to meds, but made a terrific comeback. George Clooney, her Nephew said Christmas as Aunt Rosies house was like absolutely wonderful. She would sit at her piano and play and sing and everything would be perfect. Her loss is a great one to all of us. We love you Rosie...

  • Her 2 month old baby boy - otherwise known as Miguel Ferrar! Talented family.

  • Yes and i think he married Debbie Boone

  • Give her an emmy NOW! Rosemary Clooney ROCKS! The "What's My Line" panel ROCKS!! Goodson-Todman Productions ROCKS!! The Uploader of this video ROCKS!!

  • She was quite a cutie back then.

  • i absolutely love rosie!

  • Even the very unpretentious "you're right!!" she gives Bennett Cerf at 2:10 is delightful. She seems to be enjoying her Kentucky self and having a ball.

  • Unpretentious is right and despite the fact that she was a great talent and in my opinion quite a beauty.

  • The laugh gave her away :D

    I love Rosemary

  • Delightful lady, Miss Clooney. Poised, well groomed, full of fun. No "ain't I hot stuff" tude about Rosie! She could teach a few of these current so called "singers" a thing or two..and then some. Thank you for sharing.

  • @erzbet07 I completely agree. Rosemary was so easy-going, down-to-earth, and talented.

  • @erzbet07 Was this before her famous breakdown and drug addiction that ruined her career for many years?

  • @erzbet07 Well said. What a classy lady and wonderful singer. Such a sweet, 'natural' voice that needed no pyrotechnics to be heard.

  • @erzbet07

completely agree! I was only born in 1971 but love the music and singers of the 50ties and 60ties.

Rosemary Clooney was one of the greatest singer ever!

  • i think men like husky voices on women

  • Agree she was so pretty and thin when she was younger. she also seemed really nice and genuine. she impressed me.

  • who is it that the lady asked she was married to that made rosemary laugh?

  • Arlene Francis asked Rosemary if she was married to Toulouse Lautrec. Jose Ferrer, Rosemary's than husband, played Toulouse in the film Moulin Rouge in 1952. I believe he won an Oscar for the role.

  • No, the award for 1952 went to Gary Cooper for "High Noon." Jose Ferrer won Best Actor for Cyrano de Bergerac in 1950.

  • the greatest clooney

  • Thanks for posting this!I'm a fan of Rosemary Clooney! It's so nice!

  • husky voice... he said the same thing to lauren bacall. didn't he realize it wasn,t very nice?

  • I love her confidence as a performer. She didn't do any of that coy, phony indecisiveness that some other actresses did on this show: ("Am I a leading lady? Am I, John? Hmm?"). Also, she didn't allow John Daly to blather all over her interview time, the way he did with almost everyone else. He asked a few questions, and she answered them with short, colorful answers. What a pro.

  • i actually got to meet her 7 years ago at the cicny airport were i work, i have a picture and and autograph she was a really nice lady, nick and nina clooney comes through often everyone but george :(

  • OMG! I didn't know Rosemary Clooney was so thin and pretty in the 1950's.. I remember seeing her on tv commercials years ago and she was very heavy set and wore big glasses..

  • She's very lovely in 1954's "White Christmas"... you might enjoy watching it!

  • The best Christmas movie ever!! She is absolutely delightful in it. When she is in a scene, you can't help but watch her. She was very captivating and most lovely in White Christmas.

If you get it on DVD, Rosemary Clooney does a brilliant comentary the whole movie through, not just select scenes like some actors these days!

  • Rosemary sings beautifully. I recently found out that Billie Holiday was her child's godmother, I found that very interesting!

  • her laugh gave her away

  • She's so cute!

  • she did a great small part as an alzheimers patient on ER

  • There was no disguising that voice. I can't believe they didn't guess her after just one or two questions.

  • She only did 3 film roles before White Christmas, a TV play nine years later, two TV things in the 80's and then Radioland Murders in 1994. That was it for the acting part. After White Christmas I would think she would have at least a 3 picture deal.

  • My goodness, it's George Clooney's aunt!

  • The speaking voice alone is gorgeous. Like a beautiful, sensuous violoncello. Thank you.

  • Agree, her voice was great all around and quite unique.

  • Amazing! she's so adorable...

  • Isn't she?! And what applause!
