No, Spore is classified by it's Lead Designer, Will Wright, as a Massively Single-Player Online Game. 99% of the game's content (creatures, vehicles, structures, etc.) is generated and shared between users like you and me. But there is no player vs. player or co-op mode if that's what you meant by "online play". At least, not yet anyway... =D

Just a little bit of important Spore-related news: Gamespot is reporting that the full version of Spore for PC/MAC has "gone gold". YES!!! =D For those not familiar with this video game industry lingo, "going gold" means that the program code has been frozen, and the 'Master DVD' has been sent off for final mass production! EA and Maxis' long road is finally over! Approximately three weeks left to go! 09/07/08 is just around the corner, folks!!! Hang in there a little bit longer... =D

You're right, the full version of Spore will allow for limitless opportunities for creativity. I'm not sure about this, but I think there will be an editor devoted strictly to making spacecraft/UFOs!!! I could be wrong, but I thought I read that somewhere on the Internet (so it must be true, right). Dude 09/07/08 can't arrive fast enough...and this is the 1st time I've ever been envious of Eurpoe because they get Spore 2 days ahead of the United States. =( Please keep in touch, my friend!!! =D
