This machine is like government; big, serves little purpose, doesn't work properly thus needs extra people to push thing through, takes way too long in getting things done, is full of smaller pet projects that waste time and energy, and I'm certain others can add more to this.

@lalkin Kind of impossible, with a contraction of this size. And remember, it's built from Lego, a building block hardly known for its precision, without the benefits of ball bearings, mass dampers etc. This is why so many balls fall out, it's simply because there's an element of instability especially when you're building with bricks that are designed to be loosely-held and temporary. In a perfect system, there wouldn't be any jostling or vibrations violent enough to dislodge the balls.

@Strand0410 I disagree. With proper engineering, you can counter those inaccuracies. See-also the LEGO machine which 3D-prints things out of LEGO, and the relatively-precise Mindstorms scanner I built over a decade ago.
