I agree with the BA Herald quote. If the lack of confidence by the people in the system persists and persists and there is no orderly return to a kind of normality that the people can support, then naturally you are witnessing the collapse of democracy. Is it the fault of the people in the street? Was it the fault of the arrogant political elite that caused the problem in the first place, then made it worse? The answer to both is yes.
