@druidofdeath11 check out Tyr, they're pretty fuckin good, i would suggest, shadow of the swastika, hold the heathen hammer high and how far to asgard, they're more clean singing orientated but they're still pretty heavy and have some awesome solos :), not quite as good as wintersun, but if wintersun are a 10 on the difficult meter these guys would be an 8 and a 1/2

Man, This album is way better than all the bodom albums put together and, like janaart said, jari has more talent than alexi. Now alexi is good and janne is amazing but when it comes to the band as a whole Wintersun is better.

oh, and Wintersuns new album "Time" is coming out sometime around this coming fall or winter. We will see if Wintersun becomes shit the more albums they make (ref. to Bodom)

and i agree that bodoms more recent albums are less sappealing and even kind of boring sometimes but blooddrunk is actually a really technical album, the riffs are formed so awesomely and strangely

Uhm... No... Just no. Sweep picking is one of the more advanced techniques in guitar. Even Iommi can shred, but can't sweep.

i dont listen to much sabbath but when i said shredding i mean like the solos in Taste of My Scythe by Children of Bodom, The Blind Leader by Kalmah and Born by Nevermore

i do play and i sweeping is easy as shit and thats what im basing my oppinion on shreding takes way more technique to do than sweeping anyways, not just fast picking scales doing 3rds, 4ths, 5ths,6ths, 7ths and all the other shit that can be done

sweeping is probably the hardest thing to grasp.

took me a while to get but like anything its time and practice.

with the whole cob and wintersun thing both jari and alexi are both close to each other.jari is probably faster at sweeping but he's not insanely technical with arpeggios.and neither is alexi.shredding wise alexi is probably better but once again not by very much.

im speaking from experience after learning wintersun and cob.

ye man sweeping is tough. i remember the first sweep solo i loearned was the first solo from megadeths holy wars and i thought it was literally impossible. its been a year now and i can do it almost perfectly.

and after learning wintersun and cob, alexi jst shreds the living fuck out of simple scales. and jari shreds the living fuck out of arrpegios( which sound more technical) which is probablly the reason lots of people think alexi sucks compared to jari.both r awsome, still i prefer jari.
