I actually enjoy as a fellow FF/EMT to see these videos to see what some companies do and what mine does as great training resources. HOWEVER there is a line and I understand that its your right to video tape when were extricating an individual ive seen people video taping us pulling out dead bodies and thats where you know out of respect for that person you should end the tape. Great video though!!!
Good learning tool for firefighters, keep filming. Its your legal right to as long as you stay on Public Property, forget what the Genpop says or feels, most of them are idiots anyway. When they start giving you grief just tell them your with the media, that usually shuts them up. Just act like you belong there and act professional about it.
Hollick, you are free to peruse your strange obsession which lacks much empathy for those involved. Your on scene reporting leaves much to be desired as you are very uncomfortable to listen too. Nothing personal, just don't quit your day job.
Wonderful job Mr. Hollick...great training video! Just remember, it was in the moment and people are extremely nosey and don't know when not to say anything. That lady wasn't a family member so if you're a sick individual, then so is she for standing and watching. Doesn't matter if you have a camcorder or not. Also, what a fine job done by those fire fighters!
What a joke! These people were not gathered there to have a picnic. They were looky-loos who were gazing on the accident for there own morbid entertainment. Mr Hollick (even if he does not know it) provided a great learning tool for firefighters with this video.
We're so blinded by censorship in this country its rediculous. Now this could be used in many ways. Just to document, As reference, To prevent mistakes, to learn, and to prevent lawsuits that could be placed in the event that the victim says their injuries were worsened due to "mistakes" in the process of removing the victim from the vehicle. whats the difference if those people are watching, and if the whole world watches? There isn't any, accept we were not at the scene. So she's sick also.
I drove heavy duty wrecker for about ten years and think it is always good to have documentation of an accident in case something goes bad then they can figure out what went wrong and do it different next time because the story you get from the rescue personnel and police is not likely to point out their mistakes.
welll, first off, do you know if he was ok, and my opinion is, you were not taking the mikey out of/teasing or being negative in any way, you were giving us the facts and commentary as the events unfolded. I would not reccoment standing and filming though if the rescue crew has not turned up yet and you could help.
Oh I don't know what I feel about filming such a thing...it could be seen as capitalising on someone else's misfortune....but I would not stop you. Don't know if I would do it tho' . If the guy was OK then I guess it was OK to do.
I would have said, "Ma'am, I am in the middle of making a training video for our fine firefighters. If you don't mind, I need you to step back so I can do my job."
Looked like the Red SUV might have hit them causing the rollover. Of course this could also be reversed. At least we can assume something like this might have happened, seeing the two wrecks at the end of the video.
Sorry, Mr. Hollick, but I stopped watching once I saw the car. As a person who has been involved with more than one serious accident before, I can say that I wouldn't want someone I didn't know filming it to put it on youtube to show my "fans". I'm not a socialist, and being sensitive doesn't have much to do with it. Sorry to say, but I wouldn't have wanted you filming either, if I were there.
I actually spoke with te mans wife, who you see in the video and she was amazed as I was at the crowds reaction, she thought it would be interesting to see later after things settled down.
Well that's good. I was just offering my opinion. Everyone seemed shocked that people might react negatively to someone recording something like that. I can understand the other side. Very well.
do you know what ended up happening to the victim? did you follow up on the post hospital? I'm just wondering if the person was able to survive. I hope so. xo
All those people are in my prayers... even the ones who were judging and criticizing something they were doing only without a camera... I pray for the families involved in the wreck. Thank you for sharing this with us! PLEASE do a follow up interview! Show them the video!
It is a tough job, but someone has to report the news. It makes little sense for people to give you a hard time for filming this, when they themselves are just a bunch of rubber neckers.
So I guess it is ok for them to watch it on tv and think nothing of it, but heaven forbid you got out and film it for us to see. Some people don't make any sense at all.
I think that if the guy that was pulled out, lives, he might be interested to see everything the rescue workers did to get him out. He will have a new appreciation for what they did. Please keep up informed about how he is doing. Okay?
It is America and you are bringing the news to us with out falsification. I do not know why that lady would have a problem. But I hope you keep on Filming because we will keep on watching. You are a man with Iron Nuggets. And that is a good thing. Your not scared to get the story. I hope you always keep it real my friend. God bless you and Max and your family. Happy SaintPartics Day.
well i think it is good to show that fire department helping people. Shows how they DO save lives. As far as those people, They are no better really they are gawking too. I hope every one is ok!
hahah whatever. what are those people doing? If it is so bad to see why are they there? hmm Idiots is all I have to say :) Anyways, Great job and for sure keep on filming!

This was an extremely educational video for people that have no Idea what first responders do.
Which is simply, save as many lives as they can.
Now, that helicopter was also there to film. You did nothing wrong and may have improved peoples understanding of what those guys do.
I might get spamed for this but if you check my channel you will see how I know.
