@NamoArts Its all a game, do not take what they yell at you personally. Do not worry if you screw up, your not the first person to screw up and you wont be the last. Team work, team work, team work is KEY! Also work on your fitness until you leave, better shape your in the easier things are.
@mrhumperdoodle no you dont Cadets is a youth organization with military involvement there is nothing saying if ur a sea cadet you have to go navy whatever element you choose is totally up to you even after u go navy army or air you can transfer out of one element to another however you'll need to re-do basic training
I have a question, if you're a cadet do you have to join the same branch of service that you served in the cadets with? I'm a Sea Cadet but I want to be an infantry soldier so badly!
I just want to say that I really like watching this series.
Also I am in Army Cadets I have been for five years now and while watching this series I do not think there is any thing that I have not had an experience learning.
Although I hope BMQ is slightly more intense than this looks, this reminds me of Blackdown ACSTC.
@matthewsommers20 I was in Sea Cadets and now work in a daycare where I have several members of the CF dropping off their kids. Their biggest tip for being an ex Cadet is this: Don't act like you already know something and help other people out.
mmm that food looks good:) i love that about the military, went there at 130 pds 5 foot 11 saw the cafeteria and herd AAAALLLELLUAA. Came home at week 6 and was 145. Everyone told me i would lose weight and it really botherd me so i ate as much as i could with the time given.
Advice for ppl on range going to basic. Have a jam? Its not working? Something Wrong? Eject your mag, cock the weapon 3 times, check the chamber, place it on the ground then turn and ask for help. Do anything else, and you will get tackled, because you have live ammo, and a loaded deadly weapon that can kill.
Wtf no offense or anything but this "training" dose not look very disiplined...The british one is hell, so is the americans. So why dose this one look so relexaed ?
it might be that, or the fact that we're canadians and aren't aloud to fire on enemies unless permitted to do so, but basic training varies, you might get good officers, you might get bad officers
@vennom212 also, this is just basic training. there will be more training after this for your specific trade. i have found that season 2 is alot tougher on them. also, it depends on what your thinking of for americans. USMC, is harder, but the regular infantry is about the same i believe
since you were in the BMQ, I have a question for you. Does this show realistically show what it's REALLY like in recruitment? Are some aspects of this program shown to be more easy, and less of a challenge than it really is?
I am to begin my basic on the 21st of November this year, however with the rifles ( just ou of curiosity) do you get the choice of a closed sight or Iron sights? Or is it mandatory to fire with both?
Is the reservists training the same? Reason why I ask is because I have a full time job and am just wondering if I do join the reserves how will my training compare to a full time soldier?
No reserver training is different, its far more... I dont know how to call it. More relaxed? Regular force training is the only proper one. If you are going for the full experience of basic training.
I take it crooksby has little experience using a rifle. You start with the iron sights because it's better to learn how to fire with the bare minimum and work up from there. What happens if you lose your scope or something happens, it's back to square one.
We never used scopes when I did my basic, always iron sights. I wonder why they switched? You'd think it would be better to learn with iron sights, especially during basic.
I was a strange kid, really really picky with what I ate. To the point that I didn't eat chicken till I was 19 years old. What was it that got me out of that you ask? The military. After some of those long ass days I'd eat anything.
Weather sucked? I would have loved to have shot in that kind of weather, I had to do that in the heart of winter with crappy gloves that did nothing for my hands. Plus we used iron sights not scopes.
The first 4 weeks they are CB (Confined to Base). This may differ depending on the course but after the course passes the big inspection in week 4 then you've earned weekends free, if you pass.
We usually slept in, some guys would head to the gym. Others would hang out and read, correspond with family members, study, catch up on anything that was deficient during inspections and try to help each other learn anything that someone couldn't figure out.
Poor two sentries.

british army marksmanship
1 postion and hold must be firm anuff to support the weapon
2 the weapon must point naturally at the target
3 sight alignment must be correct and sight picture must be clear
4 each shot must be followed though without any undue stress to the firers postion
bigjohn697791 1 year ago
@bigjohn697791 Canadian Army Marksmanship
1. Ensure the weapon is in proper working order, and that it has been sighted correctly
2. Use the correct posture and form, putting as little stress on your muscles as possible
3. Use proper breathing techniques; inhale, hold 2-3 seconds. That 2-3 second window will produce the most accurate results
4. Squeeze, don't pull, the trigger as slowly as possible
follow these few steps and you should have an excellent grouping

if your 16 you can only do reserves, and you wont be deploying to a warzone anytime soon so dont worry about that.

17 is the minimum age given that you have parental consent. At 16 you can join the reserves if you wish.
