Id rather pay for a Schecter/ESP/Ibanez/Dean Guitar with custom pickups such as EMG's, Blackouts, Dimebuckers, Dimarzo's, and other brands for around 1000 instead of buying a les paul or Strat with no custom pickups(If u call those custom, they sure dont sound it) and cheaper wood for WAY more expense.

@InfectTheCrypts that's a preference thing and i actually like ebony better, too, but the rosewood gibson use is likely to be better quality than the pieces of ebony used on cheaper guitars.

if you don't really like the classic style guitars too much, sure you can get a cheaper guitar that suits you better, but that doesn't make the classics overpriced. a similar quality guitar from a company like ESP, dean, ibanez etc will cost the same sort of price - maybe just a tiny bit less, but not much.

@Blompcube true. I personally dont see a point tho in forking out thousands for a les paul. They are great guitars yes, but to me they dont suit my personal needs of music very much. Im not tryin to diss anybody else I just personally do not like them. I paid a thousand for a schecter blackjack ATX C-1 with ebony and blackouts, and a case, and a small korg tuner, strap locks, a new strap, and cleaning materials. Ive never played a better guitar in my life.
