It sounds to me that you had a very poor physician not to caution you about the addictive nature of what he prescribing you, and then to dismiss you as a patient in this state sound to me like gross malpractice. I would report him to the state medical regulatory authority.

I tried that and it was horrible, because it makes me that much more sensitive of my central nervous system which is going haywire from the withdrawal. Weed doesn't help either. how the hell can you even be alive taking 40 hydrocodone's a day? i break them in half and it last all day. then it might be 3 days bedore i take another half. if you abuse them they will destroy your liver.
Look into Immodium/Loperamide mega-dosing. I was only able to quit because I was taking mega-doses of Immodium, which is a powerful over-the-counter opiate. Start by taking 100-150 pills at a time. It's long lasting, so you only need to redose every 2-3 days. Takes about 6 hours to fully kick-in. This stuff is a god-send, I'd have never gotten clean w/o it. Not really fun or euphoric when it crosses the BBB, so it's not very abuseable and it's easy to taper down off and quit.

Hey. You clearly don´t know what you are talking about. Methadone could very well be as hard to come off as subtutex but to say it´s harder is ludicrous. I started drugs over thirty years ago. I´m guessing you are a young person with unfounded opinions. You have no proof of this and the claim is false. I know a girl that was on Methadone for seventeen years and came off it. Granted she went through hell. But I know nobody who has been on subutex for more than five years ever to come off it.

Fourty to fifty hydro 10 mg! Wow, 50 of these pills would equate to 500 mg per day. The maximum dosage is 60 mg per day. You are so lucky to be alive. I hope you are clean now. Good luck.

I'm 29 years old and have been on methadone since i was 21 doing about 20 mg's a day. I can't pass a drug test to find a good job (i don't have a prescription and never have) and have tried to quit many times. I tried to do it at home and at a hospital. My so called family and friends just say quit but they don't understand. I feel like I am never going to amount to shit. I have a 4 year degree but can't use it. I need advice please. @Miles3363 hey man... my advice is to begin tapering slowly.. Take a lttle bit less every couple of days, until you are down to nothing.. Then from there, I would see if you can find suboxone and continue to taper down from a larger does from there. Methadone is worse than any other withdraw, since it can last WAY longer than any other opiate withdraw. I was never on methadone, but was a 4 year oxy addict, in which i got 4 suboxone and tapered all the way to nothing.. I felt nearly no withdraws.
@NateBjammin Thanks for the advice. I'm down to 15mg's and feel fine, sleep normal and no wd's I'm going to drop down to 12 mg's next week and continue that trend for the next couple months. I feel like if I can get down to less then 5 mg's then I could get off for good. I would like to try suboxne but it's very expensive where I live and there are only methadone clinics. There is one doctor who prescribes suboxne but her patient list is full and she's not accepting new patients. Wish me luck
@Miles3363 Look for some on the street.. Don't get a lot.. only about 4, and then taper down accordingly. I would also say taper down below 5mg... see if you can break up to 2.5 or even 1. At the end I was even just using a little powder that i placed on my tongue every day.. Get down as low as you can, then drop off and face it.. Don't be afraid man. I am a year in, and let me tell you, life is still a struggle, but the point is I have a life again..

I am prescribed suboxone for a few years now but last feb after a car crash my bupe doc prescribed me 150 mg a day of the blue oxycodine 30's from my bupe doc and it is so hard for me not to overdue it on my oxys I have to go in 2 a month for pills and UA's contplating telling my doc that I want to go to rehab to get off this shit cause I can't keep doing this to myself and it has me by my balls
Taper off slowly with the help of someone you trust. I have done this many times to clear out my system. Slowley reduce your dosage, have a trusted friend administer the dosages. Take 5000 milligrams chewable vitamin C daily. helps with the watery eyes, yawning, helps you feels better while tapering down. Slowly is the key, it works like a charm.

What about that rapid detox? They put you under and takes couple hours and then you continue with home medication for a short time. I just saw a documentary about football players who been on opiates for many many years I mean popping 5 - 30's a shot or even more and they were able to get clean in a month with help of course. It seems like there is no end but I'm sure if you put your mind to it there is a light at the end of the road. I used to take 30's I was actually up to 16 -30's oxycodones

they´re ol timers like me. Even then it´s a mistake. You´re basically trading one vice for another. Still, it does give you kind of a stabile everyday life, if you´re like me doing the twelve step program too. But you always wonder in the back of your mind; what would life have been like without those damned pills. Peace out

Hey. You clearly don´t know what you are talking about. Methadone could very well be as hard to come off as subtutex but to say it´s harder is ludicrous. I started drugs over thirty years ago. I´m guessing you are a young person with unfounded opinions. You have no proof of this and the claim is false. I know a girl that was on Methadone for seventeen years and came off it. Granted she went through hell. But I know nobody who has been on subutex for more than five years ever to come off it.

if you have a job or go to school, cold turkey is impossible. cause if your willing to fight the pain and sickness you just stay home for 2 weeks...if you have a job go see a doc, talk to him about suboxne, and follow the rules..you have to want it, and not just talk about it

Fourty to fifty hydro 10 mg! Wow, 50 of these pills would equate to 500 mg per day. The maximum dosage is 60 mg per day. You are so lucky to be alive. I hope you are clean now. Good luck.

I'm 29 years old and have been on methadone since i was 21 doing about 20 mg's a day. I can't pass a drug test to find a good job (i don't have a prescription and never have) and have tried to quit many times. I tried to do it at home and at a hospital. My so called family and friends just say quit but they don't understand. I feel like I am never going to amount to shit. I have a 4 year degree but can't use it. I need advice please. I don't do any other drugs and never have, just methadone

@Miles3363 hey man... my advice is to begin tapering slowly.. Take a lttle bit less every couple of days, until you are down to nothing.. Then from there, I would see if you can find suboxone and continue to taper down from a larger does from there. Methadone is worse than any other withdraw, since it can last WAY longer than any other opiate withdraw. I was never on methadone, but was a 4 year oxy addict, in which i got 4 suboxone and tapered all the way to nothing.. I felt nearly no withdraws.

@NateBjammin Thanks for the advice. I'm down to 15mg's and feel fine, sleep normal and no wd's I'm going to drop down to 12 mg's next week and continue that trend for the next couple months. I feel like if I can get down to less then 5 mg's then I could get off for good. I would like to try suboxne but it's very expensive where I live and there are only methadone clinics. There is one doctor who prescribes suboxne but her patient list is full and she's not accepting new patients. Wish me luck

@Miles3363 Look for some on the street.. Don't get a lot.. only about 4, and then taper down accordingly. I would also say taper down below 5mg... see if you can break up to 2.5 or even 1. At the end I was even just using a little powder that i placed on my tongue every day.. Get down as low as you can, then drop off and face it.. Don't be afraid man. I am a year in, and let me tell you, life is still a struggle, but the point is I have a life again..

good luck im 26 to and got addicted around 20. i broke my wrist in a hockey game and then used ocs then years and years of abusing that i started using heroin. i also tried rehab, detox and suboxone. im now on methadone which has helped but i still use but not as much. my mother and family said the same thing. its a shame you were so unaware of your addiction till it was too late. you seem like a nice person and a good mother. take care of yourself. hope everythings better or getting better now

Same thing that I went through, when I was 22 I was injured at work I broke my back L3-L4 plus I herniated L3-L4,L4-L5 and L5-S1 to be exact. My doctor put me on Oxycontin 60mg for a year then sent me to a surgeon and pain management DR. He put me on Oxycontin 60mg in the A.M and oxycodone 15mg around the clock. I was so addicted and fucked up for 2 years till I had my reconstructive back surgery august 9,2010 when i was 24 and was on Oxycontin 80mg for 6 months. I was soo bad I tryed cold turk

I am prescribed suboxone for a few years now but last feb after a car crash my bupe doc prescribed me 150 mg a day of the blue oxycodine 30's from my bupe doc and it is so hard for me not to overdue it on my oxys I have to go in 2 a month for pills and UA's contplating telling my doc that I want to go to rehab to get off this shit cause I can't keep doing this to myself and it has me by my balls

Taper off slowly with the help of someone you trust. I have done this many times to clear out my system. Slowley reduce your dosage, have a trusted friend administer the dosages. Take 5000 milligrams chewable vitamin C daily. helps with the watery eyes, yawning, helps you feels better while tapering down. Slowly is the key, it works like a charm.

What about that rapid detox? They put you under and takes couple hours and then you continue with home medication for a short time. I just saw a documentary about football players who been on opiates for many many years I mean popping 5 - 30's a shot or even more and they were able to get clean in a month with help of course. It seems like there is no end but I'm sure if you put your mind to it there is a light at the end of the road. I used to take 30's I was actually up to 16 -30's oxycodones
